Installation failure at terminal block
Original delivery installers did not tighten the nuts on one of the range cable terminals. After 5+ years the overheated terminal broke off of the block and hit the grounded body, throwing major sparks. Repair should have been easy with two exceptions: 1. The terminal block did not have replacement nuts (come on, Frigidaire, you can d o better.) 2. The resulting heat on the existing terminal block welded the terminal and nut together, requiring a hacksaw and battery drill (and new nut) to separate the cable from the remains of the block. Once separated, installation was relatively easy. Remove the two remaining nuts from the block, remove the cable. Remove two sheet metal screws holding the block to the chassis, replace the block, put the range wires under the appropriate terminal, install range, and for heaven's sake..TIGHTEN THE NUTS!
