This is an authentic OEM part that has been sourced directly from Metabo. Chop saws use carbon brushes in their motor assembly to get power. They transfer electricity from outside the motor to the motor?s spinning armature. Due to the friction and heat they endure these brushes will wear down over time, which is why it is common to replace them. If your brushes have worn down you will notice the motor is no longer running efficiently, you might experience intermittent motor function, motor might have reduced power. These carbon brushes comes with wire lead and brush spring attached, and they are sold in a package of two. Even if only one brush is worn we recommend you replace both at the same time. When you are replacing a carbon brush be sure to inspect the armature, if there are burns, cracks, or other signs of damage this might indicate a bigger problem with the motor. Before attempting repair on your power tools make sure they are unplugged.
