This is a drive belt for a sander. It is what drives the sanding belt. The belt can wear over the years and will require replacement. It usually shows its wear in the form of cracks, fraying or breakage. The cogs can also start to wear making it difficult to grip properly. For this repair, use your Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the pulley cover and the motor cover. Place your unit in the vertical standing position and then loosen the hex head set screw. Raise the motor pulley to release the belt tension. Place the new drive belt on the drive pulley first and then the motor pulley. Test the tension of the belt with your fingers. Adjust the belt tension until there is a 1/4-inch give and then tighten the belt tension nut.
