This is a brush cap for your power tools. It holds the brush inside the tool. It has external threads that lead into the housing of the tool. When removing this part be gentle because too much pressure can make them crack. This part is made of plastic, and is sold individually. To remove the brush cap you should use a flat head screw driver.

This is an OEM dust bag for your sander, and it is sold as an individual part. The dust bag connects to the sander to help control the dust created while sanding. This part includes the cloth bag and wire frame that secures it. There is also a zipper located at the bottom of the bag, which is used to easily empty it after each use. Over time the bag can wear or the zipper may damage. This is a quick, easy, and tool-free repair that you can do yourself. This dust bag is connected to the sander with a spring clamp. Press the two halves of the spring clamp together and pull it to remove. Take your new dust bag, pinch the clamp together and place the bag over the opening.

This part includes one carbon brush with a wire lead and brush spring attached. A poorly running motor is often due to worn brushes, which is why they are such a common repair in power tools. Due to the constant friction they are under, they will wear over time, and will need to be replaced. If upon inspection you notice the carbon brush is burnt or otherwise damaged, you will also want to check the condition of the armature, as this might suggest a larger problem with the motor.

This Switch is an OEM approved replacement part for various tools and models manufactured by Delta, Black and Decker, and Porter Cable. For full compatibility, please see the "Model Cross Reference List" below. This Switch has four terminals, a removable safety key, and a compact design for easy installation. The purpose of the switch is to turn the device on/off, as well as playing a role in electric breaking by momentarily reversing electrical polarity. Due to the mechanical internals of switches, they tend to degrade and wear out over time, making them a commonly replaced part in power tools. Common symptoms of a broken switch include: the device has completely stopped functioning, it will not turn on, and turning off intermittently during use. Each Switch is sold individually, and may also be referred to as a Rocker Switch.

This is a ball bearing for your power tools. It is used in a variety of machines for rotary motion. The bearings support your tools by lowering the friction, which allows easy rotation of moving parts. Depending on how often you use your tool the bearings are a commonly replaced part. This is because they will experience most of the pressure, heat, and vibrations.

Bad bearing on brush end of Bucksaw motor
remove the brush cover on the end oppisite blade, unplug brush and remove bronze brusholder, if not replacing brushes , mark them for left and right. In my case the bearing had seized to the armature shaft much tighter than its normal shrink fit, so a bearing puller was needed, once the bearing is off, clean up shaft , heat bearing to about 200 deg F and blast end of shaft with cyrofreeze -60 F quickly drop bearing onto shaft and with very little effort it should slide on and bottom out on shaft. work quickly the shrink fit only lasts a few seconds. the trick is to heat bearing but not get it too warm and distort the plastic bearing cover. reinstall brush cap and old or new brushes. these old bucksaws are great for siding jobs , problem is only thing still available is the bearings and brushes. I think this saw is 35-40 years old , maybe I can get another 10 years out of it and by then I will be too old to lift it. Read more...

This is a manufacturer-approved belt for a sander, and it is sold as an individual part. This rubber belt is 16-inches by 3/8-inches and has 80 teeth. It is located underneath the belt cover and is placed around the segmented drive pulley and driven pulley. It is what drives the sanding belt and sanding disk. It is common for the cogs to wear down over time, the belt can also crack, break, and start to fray along the edges. If the sander is overloaded this can speed up the wear of the belt. For this repair you will need to remove the belt cover, and then you will line up the belt onto the pulleys.
