For this repair, start by removing the collet and collet nut, followed by the collar on the front of the tool. You will then need to disassemble the housing. You will now need to lift the motor and switch assembly out of the housing. The lock pin and retainer are located at the front of the housing and will need to be removed. This manufacturer-sourced replacement kit is designed for use with Dremel power tools and includes two (2) carbon brushes and two (2) brush holders, each equipped with metal springs and lead wires. Carbon brushes are essential components that conduct electrical current between stationary wires and the rotating motor. As wear items, they gradually degrade through use and friction, and will eventually require replacement to maintain tool performance. To complete this repair, you’ll need a hex key or Allen wrench. Begin by removing the screws that hold the tool’s housing together. Carefully separate the two halves of the housing to access the armature and brush holders. Remove the brush covers and take out the old brushes along with their springs. Install the new brush assemblies, reassemble the housing, and test your tool to ensure proper operation.
