This is a brush and spring for your power tools. This brush is sold individually, and two are needed for most power tools. We recommend replacing both brushes together for an even wear. When your brush wears down it will greatly affect your motor function by reducing the power and electric braking. When making this repair we recommend inspecting the armature for cracks or visible damage that would mean other motor problems. Carbon brushes are the most commonly replaced power tool part. This power cord is used for power tools and some of the following tools: electric drills, reciprocating saws, jig saws, biscuit joiners, and routers. The power cord is made for double insulated tools and is a two-wire cord with two prongs, but it does not need a ground wire. If there are cuts in the cord insulation, intermittent power during operation, or damaged and bent prongs, then replacing the power cord will solve the problem. The tools needed for this repair are a Phillips screwdriver, small screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, crimping tool, and terminal (ring or spade). Repair tip: During installation, remember that new cord wires must go correctly into wire terminals. Also, to avoid pinching when the tool case is put back into place, remember to route cord and wires in the right path.

Retainer

This retainer, also known as a retaining ring or split ring, is a genuine OEM replacement part used in cordless drills. It is responsible for securing the spindle within the clutch housing so that it remains stable during use and ensuring the components such as gears and bearings do not slide off the spindle. Over time the retainer may crack, corrode, or fall off, leading to wobbly parts and excessive vibration. Ensure the drill is off before beginning the replacement. Remove the chuck, and clutch housing. Use a set of pliers to remove the retainer from its groove. Clean the mounting surface and place the new ring in the groove on the spindle. Reassemble the drill components in reverse order.
