The vent grille broke and fell off
Remove 2 screws on the top of the vent grille. Remove the stainless steel vent door from the old frame (3 machine screws). Install vent door on new frame. Install new vent grille on the microwave. Replace the two screws on top of the frame.

VENT GRILL FRAME PLASTIC ATTACHMENTS BROKE OFF
THIS REPAIR IS SIMPLE. ENSURE THERE ARE NO PLASTIC BROKEN PARTS LEFT ON WHERE THE NEW ONE WILL ATTACH. REMOVE 2 SCREWA FROM THE TOP OF THE MICROWAVE, REMOVE THE OLD VENT GRILL FRAME FROM THE VENT COVER BY REMOVING 3 SCREWS. ATTACH THE NEW VENT FRAME TO THE VENT COVER WITH THE 3 SCREWS THEN REPLACE THE WHOLE THING BACK ONTO THE MACHINE BY SCREWING THE 2 TOP SCREWS. EASY AS PIE TO 10 MINUTES AT BEST.
