The primary purpose of the Capacitor is to store electrical energy within the switch box assembly. If your Log Splitter will turn on but not run, or if your Capacitor has become damaged, it may be time to replace the Capacitor. It is white, approximately 4" long, has a wire attached, and is sold individually.

The electical motor would not start, it would just make a nosie.

unplug the splitter from the power. and then remover the cover from the control box and pull the capacitor out of the control box ,then look at the colors on the unit and match them. (caution discharge the old capacitor!). Read more...
