Installation Instructions
Bruce from New Berlin, WI
Replacement of Damaged Power Cord
Using the correct Torx driver, remove the handle and hand guard. With the same Torx driver, remove all case screws. Lay the case on one side and carefully split the case. Remove the cord hold-down strap. (In my case, the power cord connectors did not exactly match the existing connectors.) Cut the existing connectors from the old power cord allowing sufficient length to splice to the new cord. Carefully strip the insulation (approx 1/2") from the ends of the old and new wires being careful to match the black and white wires. Insert one end of the stripped wire through appropriately sized heat-shrink insulation. Solder the exposed wire ends. Slide the insulation over the soldered joint and apply heat to shrink (or wrap with electrician's tape). Push the wires into the case and re-install the hold-down strap. Position the rubber strain-relief fitting into the handle of the case. Replace the case halves being careful to not pinch the wires. Reseal the case with the Torx screws. Attach the handle and hand guard using the Torx screws. Test the repair.
