Chest freezer lid would not stay up
New hinges had nails installed as pins to hold top and bottom of hinges in line, overcoming the hinge spring pressure to bend the top and bottom at an angle. I unscrewed the old hinges after inserting nails as pins. Then I screwed the new hinges in place and removed the nails to let the hinges operate as designed. Very simple.
