Does the replacement piece come with instructions?

Hello Carlos, Thank you for the question. Remove the screw cap for the drive coupling. Remove the screw and pull out the coupling you can now remove and replace the bowl lock plate. We hope this helps!

It looks like the powercord and the motor have to be removed to change the part. There are three screws underneath the motor to remove the part according to a comment on a blog. Before taking it apart I just want to make sure that those are the only things that need to be removed. I don't want to touch the electronic components. Can you validate this info. Thanks so much

Hello Claude, thank you for asking! It seems that you will need to disassemble part of the unit, including removing the motor from the underside, and also remove the coupling above the bowl lock plate (there is a screw cap that will expose the screw for the coupling). The bowl lock plate itself is secured from the bottom with several screws. You can take photos as you remove the parts, and then reverse the photos to reassemble! Good luck with your repair!

How do I replace the BOWL LOCK PLATE Part # SP0002024 with the new BOWL LOCK PLATE that I have just ordered?

Hi Rick, thank you for asking. First, you will need to remove the screw cap for the drive coupling and then remove the screw and pull out the coupling. Now you can remove the old bowl lock plate and replace it with the new part. We hope this helps!
