removed 5 screws - lifted the control panel- replaced switch- screwed panel in place. removed power plug prior to the operation

Dual burner infinite switch inoperable
Followed directions included with switch (finally, as a last resort). Simple as long as steps followed closely. Only unresolved issue was what "top" signified on switch. Top of what? finally figured out when I initially installed 180 degrees out,...duh

switch does not lock in off position
pull range away from wall. disconnect power. remove 3 screws from front of control panel. move control panel up to gain acess to switch. mark all wires prior to removal. Follow directions on new switch installation paying close attention to new wiring configuration especialy the jumper wire. It has an insulated and non insulated end. Inst allation was easy for me.
