Frig quit cooling.
A Sears repairman checked my frig out and determined the Overload Relay (switch) on the side of the compressor was bad (the one piece of the relay with 4 tangs had burned up). The repairman told me that if you take the overload relay off, shake it and there is a rattling noise it has burned up, that was the case here. I ordered part # 438 7535 per repairman. There were two wires going to the old relay, one was white the other was red. There are two pieces to the ordered part, one piece with one tang to plug the white wire onto and the other had 4 tangs, labeled 1,2, 3 & 4. As per the repairman the red wire connected to tang #1. The red wire connector would not fit on the new relay tang so I cut it off, stripped the wire and crimped on a bigger connector. The original overload relay fit into a plastic case which would not fit the new relay, I tossed the plastic case and just plugged each piece of the overload relay into the plugs on the side of the compressor, then plugged in the power and it has worked great.

Heard a slight buzzing sound and electrical smell. looked at compressor and saw that the relay overload had burned out.
Ordered relay kit that had a number of variations to fit different model refrigerators. It took me about 10 minutes to understand which one applied. My compressor required a 2 piece assembly to replace the original 1 piece unit. I attached the 2 units on the compressor, Added the plastic cap and started the refrigerator. Total time 30 mi nutes and the refrigerator works fine. Easy job!
