Dryer was making a screeching sound
Before I ordered the parts I looked up a few video repair instructions to make sure I could handle the job. I enlisted my son to help because it's a good beginner project. This site makes it really, really easy to find and order the right parts from just the model number. That was the easiest, quickest part of the repair! If I had to rate the repair from 1 to 5 (easy to hard), I would give this a 2, but a 5 if you're by yourself. We used Philips, flathead, and hex screwdrivers as needed. The hardest part of the repair was replacing the front panel on the dryer (the 5 difficulty by yourself). For less experienced DIYers this is a two-person job, since it requires precise placement & balance to line up all the notches and make sure the dryer drum doesn't slip. Two people got this done pretty easily, but it took us a few tries. When the front panel was off we used the vacuum cleaner to clean out the dryer inner frame from excess dust, especially near electric parts and belts.
