on Harbor Freight 12" wood large (exact same as Jet 1236, tailstock spindle & lead screw were worn out
I removed tailstock turning handle by loosening set screw. The entire spindle/lead screw assembly then slides out. Upon re-installation I added two washers between the turning wheel and the casting because of slop due to wear
