This is an authentic OEM replacement part that has been sourced directly from the Char-Broil, it is compatible with various Char-Broil Grills. The Heat Tent prevents flare-ups, helps to distribute the heat of the flame evenly across the grill, and is responsible for providing that smoky BBQ flavor by creating smoke when drippings fall on them. Over time, the Heat Tent will tend to wear or rust and should be replaced if signs of either begin to show. The dimensions of the Heat Tent are approximately: 14.6"L x 4.3"W x 1.43" H, is made of porcelain, and may also be referred to as a Heat Plate, Flame Tamer, or a Heat Sheild.
