water dispenser actuator broke in half
I followed Mr.Jerome-from Yardville,NJ to the tee. It was the best instruction of all the rest. The most important thing is to pay particular attention on how the device comes apart. If you do this it shouldn't take any longer than 30 minutes.

Water dispenser lever broke
Watched YouTube videos and also read written instructions from various sites. Instead of being able to unplug th faceplate controls from the inner board, there was an ultra thin wire strip with 8-10 very small wires inside that was very difficult to work with. Also putting the semi-rigid water line back into the hole was a nightmare. Had to go to the internet to find a solution. These 2 items made it a 3 hour job but it works - thank goodness. Videos on the WWW made it look so simple.

Water Dispenser Paddle Was Broken.
Followed all instructions previously listed. I did remove the water line to make it easier to access the screws on wither side of the paddle. I used the long end of the 3/18 hex key to insert through the front plate and through the hole for the water tube and into about 1 inch of the water tube. I put the front plastic panel in plac e and pulled the hex key to bring the water line into place. Except for the water line drama (45 minutes) I spent 15 minutes doing the replacement. Use a 3/18 hex key to coax the water line into position. Simple once I figured out the key. . .

The water dispenser actuator was broken. The plastic piece cracked free from the stem
My 15 year old daughter followed the video. I helped hold the electric panel in place when reassembling. The repair was very easy until the water line needed to be reinserted. The tube wasn't long enough to push into the dispenser hole while keeping the panel open for a hand to do the work. My daughter came up with the idea of inserti ng a phillips head screw driver into the water tube and pulling it through. It worked and all is working great! She also replaced the water filter according to the directions on the box.

A friend broke off water dispenser actuator
I am no expert, but I thought I would at least try to do this repair myself. The original actuator is not well designed as it is made of plastic and if one is not careful can easily snap off. On the other hand it did last a long time because I tend to be careful with appliances. The videos on this site were very helpful, but there were a few things that I encountered that could be useful for others. After I pulled out tray at bottom, I had trouble removing 2 of the 3 screws at bottom of face plate as they were stripped and rusted. I drilled them out, but couldn't remove all of the pieces so had to drill new holes on face plate when I put it back on. I would suggest that they be replaced at repair time by rust resistant screws. When the face plate was removed I had no trouble removing the old part, but as the wires were wrapped around other wires I couldn't tell where they plugged in. To my surprise they plugged in right in the front. Overall the job was not difficult and I think next time I could do the whole thing in under 10 minutes.

Water dispenser Actuator was broken needed replacement
Everything went according to other instructions with the exception of the disassembly . You really have to remove the assembly that holds the actuator lever. No finger room. I had to pull the water tube loose from the assembly then things were assessable, Now the fun part, the reassembly, There is no way you can reinsert the water tube into the assembly. I ended up attaching more tubing to the existing water tube with super glue, stuck it thru the dispenser hole, completed the installation, tested it out, then trimmed the excess tubing that was sticking out the dispenser assembly.
