I changed this out once before so I knew how to do it. I went online and ordered the part. To change out the part you disconnect the range (electric range) and the open the top oven door. Read more to prop under the cook top after you lift the cook top up at about a 45% angle upward. I used a 2X4 board to prop the cook top up. You can now see the bottom of the heating element. I then laid the new heating element upside down on a counter. The heating element is held to the cook top by clips which are attached by screws in the element and on the cook top. There are numbers engraved into the element. As I unscrewed each clip, I noted the corresponding engraved number and placed the loose screw and clip on the new element next to the corresponding number on the new element. You can go ahead and screw the clip into the new element as you take them out of the old element. Before you finish taking, out the last one or two clips, you will need to remove the electric wires that are attached to the control unit attached to the element. They are attached to clips that pull off/push on. After you have all of the clips screwed onto the new element and the old element has been removed, you place the new element onto the cook top and start screwing in the clips into the element. Re attach the electric wires by pushing the clip ends onto the controller. Remove the prop (2X4 board) and lower the cook top. Screw the two screws back in to hold the cook top in place and you are done.
