Dryer was overheating
Remove the front panel from the dryer by removing two screws located near the bottom of the panel. Remove a small metal plate in front of the thermostat to make access to the Thermostat easier. One by one, transfer the terminals from the existing Thermostat to the same terminals on the new one. Remove the existing Thermostat using a nu tdriver to remove two screws. Install the new Thermostat with all wiring in place by using the mounting screws just removed. Re-install the metal plate that was first removed. Replace the front panel and you're done and ready to dry clothes. Always check when using the dryer for the first time for proper operation, to assure that you have diagnosed the problem correctly.

No enough heat to dry the clothes
It wouldn’t be fair to describe how I fixed the dryer without a little background on the symptoms that showed up.

Initially, I noticed that there was heat coming from the heating element, (with the Timer Dial in the Auto position), but the Start switch had NOT been pushed. The heat turned off when I turned the Timer Dial to th e OFF position. This led me to think it was a thermostat or the actual Timer Dial. After realizing those weren’t the problem, I tested the heating element, and found that it was the problem.

I installed the new heating element by removing the front door, then removing the heating element assembly (removed the heater shield, then the screws that fastened it to the base). Then, with the wires still connected to the old heating element, I placed the new heating element assembly next to the old one. One by one, I moved the connections to the new unit (terminal connection wires, high-limit thermostat). Then, I fastened the new heating element assembly to the base, and replaced the heater shield).
