Old cap wasn't properly seated and fell out and melted during operation.
Got the new cap, it fit perfect, dropped it into the rinse dispenser hole, locked it into place and voila. Done.

Apparently did not havecoveron tight-fell off-melted
Serviceman in Lowe's recommended I go on Internet to KitchenAid to order the part which I did. It came in the mail as indicated it would. Yeah--it fit perfectly. I was told originally by a plumber my motor was going. Being a widow, I am glad I noticed the missing cover when I went to add RinseAid. Bravo--have my new cover and glad I did not rush out and buy a new dishwasher. Thank you, thank you.
