Loose mounting bolt and stripped ut agitator
The issue being the mounting bolt that is found inside the agitator might loosen up and will cause the interior of the agitator to strip out ..To repair, remove the bolt with a 5/16 socket and extension and remove the agitator by pulling it straight up .Install the new agitator by placing it down onto the shaft . and then apply Loctit e thread lock Blue 242 to the bolt threads. ( CAUTION It is very runny) Follow the package instruction and let it dry for 24 hours before using the washer . Use the 5/15 socket and extension to tighten the bolt and washer. Don't over tighten it, but, make it firm./the agitator part number is whirlpool #63235 .If you need a new washer , the whirlpool part number is 3949550. Be advised that whirlpool has combined the part numbers for the bolt and washer, this is not what you want (W10003790 - PS989963) . Just to mention, the model is a Roper Washer by whirlpool. Washer is working great now.
