Washer was not advancing to the next cycle.
Took the top back panel off with a Phillips screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver for the two slotted hex washer screws. Unplugged the washing machine and then pulled the two wiring harnesses off of the timer. To pull it out of the washer you have to pop the cover off the timer knob, pull off a tiny clip, remove the knob which will rev eal two hex washer screws to remove the timer from the face of the washer. Then just plug in the new one and reverse this process and our Maytag was up and running in about 20 minutes. Easiest repair I've done in years.
