Does this pump twist off or is there a bolt/screw attach that must be removed?

If the yellow part on the pump has a few broken pieces will that cause the machine not to drain? if so, can the yellow part be changed out or does the whole pump?

Yes, if the yellow impeller on the drain pump has broken pieces, it will prevent the machine from draining properly because it cannot create enough pressure or effectively move the water out of the tub. You will have to replace the whole drain pump, part number FIX11738151, as the impeller is not sold separately. We hope this information helps!
