This lid or door switch kit helps ensure your washer or dryer only runs when the door is properly closed. It’s a safety feature that prevents spills and keeps your appliance working as it should. Agitator works intermittently sometime work and then not? Can kick motor and sometimes raise lid, kicking works better? Joan

Hello Joan, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the wiring to make sure nothing is lose between the Lid Switch and the motor first. If everything looks good, you could have a defective Lid Switch or the Motor is weak and needs to be replaced or a defective Motor Start Switch. They can be checked with a multi meter for continuity. would not complete rinse cycle
Unplug power cord
lift and brace up top of washer. No need to remove whole top.
disconnect the two leads from old switch.
remove and discard metal clip from new switch.
replace new switch assembly with screws.
reconnect leads.
reclose plastic proctecter over new switch
plug in power cord. That's i t.

Washer wouldn't run.
Unplugged electrical cord from wall outlet, removed control panel, removed (2) spade terminal connections from lid switch. Removed existing lid switch and installed new one. Cut off old spade terminals from existing wires and installed new ones included with switch kit. Reconnected terminals, replaced control panel, plugged in washer and checked to be sure it ran properly. Done.

would not start
Remove two screws on dryer vent lint catcher.Open top of machine. Unplug or kill power to dryer. Un-clip three wires to lid switch and remove two screws holding switch in place. Had to cut one of the wires to replace clip, crimped new end on. Mounted new switch with screws replaced all three wires. Closed the top of the dryer, inserted th e screws to the lint catcher. Plugged it in and it worked like a new one.
