Product Description

If the timer knob has broken off your dryer, it is important to replace it so that you are able to properly use your appliance. The plastic can become brittle with age, and with regular use the knob can become cracked and not stay on the shaft. This authentic OEM part is roughly three inches in diameter and fits onto a D-shaped shaft. It is white in color with a silver trim. Replacing the part is a simple repair that does not require any tools. Just pull the broken knob off the shaft, and firmly push the new one into place.

Timer was hard to turn,so much so that the knob broke.
Order the parts don't order the D clip cause it comes in the knob remove cover off the back control panel make sure to unplug the unit twist the old timer out and transfer wires to the new timer then reinstall timer and covers plug unit back up then it's ready to go.

turning knob of dryer timer wouldn't work
I pulled old knob off and removed insert clip from post with pliers. Then pushed new knob on.

timer knob shaft broke off
There was 3 screws on top back of dryer holding cover on. I removed the cover, unplugged the old timer, replaced cover, and was finished. Dryer runs great. Took a total of 10 minutes.

The hub of the timer knob had cracked to the point that it would no longer operate the timer. Until the replacement part arrived, it was necessary to use pliers to turn the timer switch.
There really wasn't anything to the repair at all. The old knob was already off so, it was simply a matter of sliding the knew knob onto the switch shaft and give it a little push. If the knob should have to be removed, it should just pull straight off. If not, pry with a flat blade screwdriver. It should be noted that the new knob came w ith a clip installed. I had been informed that it would not so, I ordered a clip which I did not need. Don't wait too long to get a new knob. Using pliers will chew up the timer shaft and that could get you into more expense and more repair time.

The timer knob came off the control panel
The timer knob came off the dryer. I watched how easy it is to replace it on the video. I ordered one to replace it myself. I used a set of pliers to remove the metal piece that was left on the shaft for the knob. It was very easy to remove. I checked the knob to be sure the metal piece was in it and put it on the plastic dryer shaft . It went right on and the knob worked again! The whole process took less than 5 minutes.
