Bake Element - 240V
Fix Number FIX453960
Manufacturer Part Number 5303051519
If your oven has little to no heat, there may be an issue with the bake element. The bake element is found in the bottom of the oven cavity and is used to supply the heat used for cooking and baking. If the element has burnt out, it should be replaced. This open-style 240V bake element is a genuine OEM replacement part for your oven. It features push-on male spade terminals that are approximately 13.75 inches apart, and the element itself measures approximately 19.25 inches wide by 15 inches long. Before beginning this repair, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range, as you will be working with electrical components.

The baking element (bottom of oven) broke and burnt
I was unable to locate the exact model number, but found close #'s - then used the pictures and measurements to locate a match, and ordered it. Disconnected the power to the stove; removed the two sheet-metal screws from the back of the oven; gently pulled out the ends of the element to access the wire connectors to the element; remove the contacts with pliers. Installatiion was just the opposite. Quickly and easily done (especially with the removal of the oven door for easier access. )

Installation Instructions
Phil from Elkton, OR
8 inch surface element melted at elbow to terminal block - shot out a 6 inch flame.
Note: This is the first time I've ever tried fixing a stove. First, I ordered a new element. Took a minute to install, but it didn't solve the problem. I ordered a terminal block kit and switch kit. Replaced the terminal block. Took about 10 minutes. Only problem was the shrink sleeves melted. Electrician's tape remedied the problem. Tested the element again. It still didn't work. Following instructions provided, replaced the old switch with the new universal switch. First unplugged stove. Removed upper back panel. Took a closeup photo of switch connections, in case I messed up. Removed old switch, leaving all wires connected. Per instructions, mounted new switch and fitted dial to proper length - took about two minutes. Permanently mounted new switch. New switch wire terminals were not in the same location as on the old switch. No matter, both old and new switch terminal designations are clearly marked. Transferred wires from old terminals, one at a time, and connected to corresponding terminal on new switch. Plugged in stove. Turned on the new switch. Element worked fine. Tested the rest of the stove, just to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Everything worked. Replaced back panel. Cleaned up areas on the stove that are hard to reach while stove is in place. Slid stove back in place. Works like a champ.
