Light switch no longer worked
Turn off and unplug your refrigerator. I used the screwdriver on the left side of the part (where the plug is) and used the putty knife at the same time on the right side to push the spring lock portion of the part in. The part snapped out. I unplugged the left contact from the plug and put it on the new part, then I unplugged the right contact and put it on the new part. I did this so the wires would not go up into the refrigerator and be hard to find. I put the left side of the new part where the plug and contacts are in first then I snapped the right side in place. I plugged the refrigerator back in and it worked perfectly. Just take your time and gently remove and reconnect the new part. The store where I bought my refrigerator wanted $69.95 for a service call plus an hourly charge and part charge. Count on this site for your parts and do it yourself. I ordered the part on Monday, it was delivered on Tuesday around noon and I made the repair that afternoon. Read more...

endcap drawer lid pin broken and pantry drawer lid clear window (plastic) cracked
Removed old pantry drawer /and plastic lid and glass shelf above as well as the two slide in drawers above(for work room) Used nut driver to remove (2) screws on right side holding drawer slide and (2) screws holdin endcap. carefully removed the piece and worked it loose. It is connected to another piece at the end, just angle it out. Switched the plastic slide piece from old to new and reinstalled side piece with nut driver. This part includes one authentically sourced 3-pin rocker switch for a refrigerator. It is responsible for turning the light on inside the fridge when the door is open. It is commonly replaced because the light has stopped turning on with the door open. For this simple repair, start by disconnecting the power. Use a putty knife and a flathead screwdriver to pry the door switch out of the liner. Disengage the wire harness to release the damaged switch. Install the new door switch by first connecting it to the wire harness. Line the switch up on the liner and snap it into position. Power it back up and double-check that it is working.

Switch actuator was broken
Replaced the switch. It was easily pried out with the putty knife blade by sliding the knife blade under the switch flange, depressing the lock tab and gently twisting the knife blade to pop the switch body out. Unplug the connector to remove the faulty switch from the wiring harness and plug in the replacement. The connector is designed to fit on only one way. Push the wiring and the switch back into the opening, orienting the new switch in the same orientation as the old switch. It snaps in with light finger pressure. Read more...

This pantry end cap is a genuine OEM replacement part for your refrigerator. Also known as a drawer support, it is used to hold the rails and shelving for your pantry and crisper drawers. This specific piece is for the left-hand side, as if you are facing the fridge. For this repair you will need a quarter-inch nut driver in order to remove the slide rails and the hex screws that hold the end cap to the refrigerator wall. There are two rear slots and one front tab that the new shelf needs to engage with for installation, then the hex screws can be put back in place with the nut driver.
