Temperature Sensor
Fix Number FIX1528542
Manufacturer Part Number 316490000
If your oven has little to no heat, is not heating evenly, or is reaching too high a temperature, there may be a problem with your oven probe. This probe, also known as an oven temperature sensor or a range probe, is found in the cavity of the oven and is used to detect the temperature within there. The probe helps the oven to maintain the desired temperature by communicating with the motherboard in the oven. You can use a multimeter to test if the probe is faulty, and if so, the probe should be replaced. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range before beginning this repair, as you will be working with electrical components. The tools required to complete this repair are a quarter-inch nut driver and a pair of needle nose pliers.

If the following symptoms occur, replacing the temperature sensor could be the solution: Little or no heat when baking, oven not heating evenly, oven will not start, and/or oven is overheating. Often, if the sensor is defective, the oven temperature will fluctuate and be inaccurate by more than 50 degrees. This is a genuine OEM replacement temperature sensor for your range. You may need to replace the sensor if there is little to no heat in the oven, the oven will not start, it is not heating evenly, or the oven is getting too hot. Before beginning this repair please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range, as you will be working with electrical components. You will need access to the back panel of the range, so you will also need to pull it out from the wall so you can easily work.
