This OEM kit comes with two ignition coils (one three-terminal boost/hold coil, and one two-terminal secondary coil). Usually only one of them burns out, but you should replace them as a set as both have to be operational for the gas valve to open. The primary purpose of the part is to open the gas valve and allow the gas to enter the burner. This is a safety mechanism to make sure that there is never an unsafe buildup of gas inside the appliance. You will find the coils attached to the dryer gas valve. This is not an uncommon repair; it can fail due to normal material fatigue over time. To test your current parts, watch the burner, and if the igniter glows for a while and then shuts off without the gas is igniting, it usually means one of these coils is bad.

Sometimes referred to as a retaining clip, the retaining ring is used to hold the drum support roller onto the shaft in your dryer. The clip may need to be replaced if you find that your dryer is noisy while tumbling or will not tumble at all. The retaining clip can also be used with stand mixers, to hold the pinion gear to the agitator shaft. This genuine OEM part is made entirely out of metal and measures approximately half an inch in diameter.

Dryer Radiant Flame Sensor

This genuine OEM part is a radiant flame sensor for your gas dryer. It is used to determine when the temperature of the igniter is hot enough to ignite the gas. Once the igniter is hot enough, it allows the valve to open to release the gas. This acts as a safety mechanism which prevents dangerous levels of gas from building up. If your dryer will not start, is not producing enough heat, not heating up at all, is taking too long to dry laundry, or is shutting off too soon, you may need to replace the radiant flame sensor. Please be sure to disconnect the power and gas supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

no heat

Cost was $114.00 to replace all parts , It took longer to take apart & test everything than it did to do the repair ! I tested all parts twice , everything would test fine , I put it all back together and the dryer worked for 5 minutes , did that twice and decided to order all the parts an be done with it . Ordered the parts , that showed up at my door in 2 days !!! Turned OFF gas , took off vent hose , took back off with 8 screws , popped up top in the front , took 2 screws off the top in the back removing the brackets , Inside the front under the top removed 2 screws holding on the front , lifted the front and removed . All parts only have 1 or 2 screws holding them in place , removed 1 part at a time , removing and replacing 1 wire from old part to the new part so I did not mix up the wires , replace the part and go to the next part . It was pretty self explanatory replacing the parts , It took 20 minutes to take apart , replace the parts and put back together so my loving wife could do laundry again. You don't realize what a inconvenience it is to go without a dryer for 3 days when you have had one for 37 yrs ..... THANK YOU , 3 days can seem like forever when someone is not happy , but it was much much better than waiting 7 to 10 days for the wrong parts from somewhere else . dryer quit working during operation and failed to restart

resistor is located on top back of dryer, so just removed metal plate on back with screwdriver. other parts are located above drum, and top of dryer is hinged, so lifted top of dryer by taking small screwdriver and wedged between front and top of dryer enough to get fingers underneath top and lifted. very simple. door switch and high limit switch could be viewed and removed at this point. Dryer plastic door catch was broke on dryer

I watched several videos on how to replace the latch, but my latch was broken on one side so I took a pair of pliers and a screwdriver and pried the old one out. Push the new one in, then replaced the male catch on the door. i didn't tighten the screw holding the male latch because they use it to allign the latch with the catch. Read more...

taking it apart was easy the hard part was removing excess plastic from D shaped hole in wheel. There is so much plastic in center hole that it will not seat on shaft.
