WFW8400TW01 Whirlpool Washer - Instructions

After getting dress that wife denies closing in door out the repair wasant to hard. There are 3 or 4 phillips screws in back that holds top on that have to be taken out and the kick plate cover on bottom just snaps off but the rest is covered very well by other discriptions.(by the way the dress had to be thrown away so not only did i get to by bellow but a new dress also and the bellow was cheaper)

removed retaining ring on front gasket, pulled gasket back, took out door lock latch, unhooked wires, then reversed method to replace.

Just follow the repair video and you are good to go. Very easy my 16yr old did it.

I watched the youtube video, then ordered the part from partselect. I then took my ipad out to the garage where I placed my washing machine and completed the removal of the old seal and installed the new one with ease. Be patient when you try and fit the new seal over the lip on the machines doorway. That was the only hard part. Once I got it started, the rest was easy. I had to replace the bellow to the washer because I discovered the leak was from the door and bellow area, only problem I really had..... was installing the bellow on the outer drum, I applied a coat of hand soap to make it easier to secure in place.

Did not need to move washer, but had full access to left side of washer. side of water inlet valve. 1) remove 3 screws holding top cover on, on top back of unit. 2) remove 1 torque screw holding water inlet valve to washer. 3) remove 2 solenoid electrical plugs on inlet valve, noting hot and cold side. 4) using pliers remove rubber tubing by removing clamp. 5) install new inlet and follow steps backwards.

pushed knob straight on to shaft and then wife and I applauded!

took the old part out by the front panel and put the new pump in and now it works great. only took a couple of minute to put the new one in. thank you for saving my washer.

Thank You so much for the other stories folks wrote on here! We were getting an F21 code on a regular basis. After finding a necklace and about $2.50 in change in the filter tray we found the problem. Over time I thought the washer was getting louder but it was so gradule that we really did not realize it.I had read other posts on here and ordered a new pump. After taking out 3 screws and 2 clamps the pump came right out and went in just as easy. Less than 15 minutes and we were back in business with a wisper quiet washing machine,Thanks Again everyone, Mike D.

Well first of all when you buy this washer, the salesperson should tell you about checking the drain catch (ahead of the pump) and emptying out whatever get's caught in there. Never had a clue until it wouldn't work, then did a search on the internet, and darn if I didn't find specific instructions on how to open and clean out. Mine was packed full of hair pins, small change, lint, buttons, etc, all kinds of stuff. Guessing that is why the pump went out in the first place, it was so packed full that the pump could not draw any water through. But even after I cleaned it out, the pump was already shot. So called a service man, he said the pump would cost me around $200, then his labor to put it in, plus a $68 service call to just come and look at it, and $68 when he comes back to replace it. So I searched the internet for how to replace, came up with a very detailed You Tube video on how to replace Whirlpool Duet Pump. So ordered my pump from PartsSelect, just over $100, and replaced it myself. Super easy, only about 5 minutes. Thanks! —A very determined housewife!

It was real easy. I disconnected the wiring as shown in the video. I took the clamps off the drain pump , once off I slid the old drain pump off. I slid the new pump on , attached the hoses with the clamp provided and connected the wiring. Just follow the video and you will find it to be very easy! Thanks Parts Select for saving me money

I drained the water out of the pump area. Then took off all clamps and holding brackets. Next I pulled off the quick connect power plug. Then I put new pump in the way I took old pump out. The hardest part was unscrewing the bracket from underneath the washer. Cloth washer working fine.

Took less than 5 minutes to replace, So Happy;-)

The only issue I had was getting the hose from the tub re-installed, but that was my fault, the pump went right in. It couldn't have been easier. I was very pleased, received the replacement pump in just a couple of days, packaged very well for shipping, and had it installed in a matter of minutes. It took longer to take off front panel to access pump than it did to install it. Very pleased with "Part Select".....will use again!
