6743A71 Norge Washer - Instructions

Removed lower rear panel by removing 8 screws. Then I removed the two hoses that are attached to the pump by removing the hose clamps with a pair of plyers. The three hex head screws that anchor the pump to the base of the washer unit were removed and the pump came right out. To put the new pump in I just slipped the pump through the hole at the bottom of the washer and attached the belt onto the pulley. Then reversed the installation process. The washer had to be tipped forward slightly for this process and blocked (approx. 8 in.) to allow access to pulley. Very easy install, no help needed. Washer must be empty and preferable dry when task is done or water will be everywhere.

Removed the front cover of the machine, held in place by 2 screws on top. Removed the ground strap secured to the motor and (2) 3/8 inch bolts holding the motor in place. Next I removed this the lower belt, pulled the motor forward, then disconnected one by one, each individual electrical connector and connected them to the new motor to assure the were connected in the proper place. After this was done, the new motor was put into place with the belt reinstalled, ground straps reconnected, and bolted back into position.
Job finished in about 20 minutes.

I had my boyfriend take the lid off ,then he took off the two old hinges,one was broken,and the he replaced both lid hinges,daving the good one. it was very simple and quick for him.

Removed access panel to expose pump, removed drive belt, and old pump, repeated the avove steps in reverse order, tested for leaks and proper operation.

First I got everything I needed, unplugged the washer. Using the puddy knife I freed the top of the washer by inserting the knife about four inches from each side on front. The machine is in a place where it can not be pulled out far, hence the two by fours. Remove the loose cover, reach in with the stubby and unscrew the screw on both sides. Take the broken cover pins off the cover and install the new ones, put the other hinges in the cover, put the hole cover in place and install the one screw perside, remove wood and close the hole top, your in business , no drinking

I first changed the belt which helped but it still sounded like it was going to take off through the roof.....I did the pulley and bearing kit in hopes that it would do some good....it went really smoothly with no issues however it did not solve the problem....so it is working and I am going to just ride it out until it quits....thanks

Disconnected both power and hot and cold input water lines. Laid the washer on its front side for access to the bottom. Removed the small access panel from the back of the machine to remove the metal screws holding the pump in place. Removed the single drive belt. New pump installed easily, replaced the belt and access panel. Reconnected the power and water hoses and everything worked fine.

Changing the hinge was not difficult, but here's a hint: the top of the washer raises up if you pry it with a big screwdriver- be sure to wrap the screwdriver in a cloth so as not to scratch the appliance. Doing it this way makes it easy to access the retaining screws. You can push the wash tub to one side and reach the screws from underneath, but they're a tight fit and doing it that way is difficult. Overall a pretty easy repair and I'm only moderately handy.

I pulled washer out and removed filler hoses from water supply and drain hose and tilted it forward placing three short 2X4's under the washer to keep it tilted forward. Removed
back plate with nutdriver. Removed belt from pulley and disconnected the two hoses from pump with pliers. Removed three large screws from pump base with nutdriver and removed old pump. Installed the new pump in reverse order. Quick and fairly easy took about 30 minutes.

My husband took out the 2 screws in the front panel and loosen the 3 nuts from the pump.

The parts was easily removed and the entire job tooked 30 mins.

1. Remove 1 screw holding each of 2 Hinges - use T15 driver. 2. Push tub to one side to get access to each screw from underside. 3. remove & replace broken Hinge Pin from Lid with T15 driver. 4. Drive broken pin out of the Hinge with a punch & hammer. 5. Install new Hinge Pin to Lid. 6. Add a little Vaseline to Hinge Pin & slide Hinge Pin into Hinge. 7. Line up Hinges to holes & re-install both Hinges with Lid. Have somebody help hold the Lid in a slight angle will make re-installation easier.

first i removed the front panel unclamped the hoses unscrewed the 3 screws that hold it in pulled it out, opened the new one and actually dropped it in and it fell into place with the holes lining up inserted the screws and hose clamps and reinstalled the belt which fell off when the old pump was removed, put the front back on and gave it a test then let the wife do a load of wash it worked like new

after doing some research I found out that a loose or slipping water pump belt could cause the water pump to not pump out the water correctly. Under the washer is the belt. All you do is have someone lift the front of the washer up enough that you can reach under and remove the belt. Then replace the belt back like you took it off.

pulled the machine out, tilted it backward to expose the bottom. pulled off the old belt. got the new belt started on the three pulleys. pulled the belt to spin it , and...............done !!

Piece of cake. Raise up the front of the machine. the belt slips of easy by turning the main drive wheel. put the belt on the two small one and then rotate the big wheel as you slip the belt into the grove. good idea to first clean the wheels of any old belt material that may be worn off. Piece of cake!
