The top load cover would come off in your hand and it was so loose that the lid cover salety switch would not work
First I got everything I needed, unplugged the washer. Using the puddy knife I freed the top of the washer by inserting the knife about four inches from each side on front. The machine is in a place where it can not be pulled out far, hence the two by fours. Remove the loose cover, reach in with the stubby and unscrew the screw on both sides. Take the broken cover pins off the cover and install the new ones, put the other hinges in the cover, put the hole cover in place and install the one screw perside, remove wood and close the hole top, your in business , no drinking

Broken Hinge Pins
I used the putty knife to release the spring clips on the machine lid. They are about 3" in from the side of the machine. Then I lifted the top of the washer up holding the lid in place. I then used a screw driver (torx) to remove the hinge from the bottom of the washer top. The lid should come right off. Then I the removed the broken hinge pins from the back of the lid with a screwdriver and replaced with the new parts. There is a little tab that the pin fits in the lid to assure you have the pin installed correctly. Then I slid the hinge back on the pin and reversed the process reinstalling the hinges and closing the top of the machine over the spring clips and your done. Very easy repair that I completed in less than 15 minutes.

it was spinning slowly or not at all
I first changed the belt which helped but it still sounded like it was going to take off through the roof.....I did the pulley and bearing kit in hopes that it would do some good....it went really smoothly with no issues however it did not solve the problem....so it is working and I am going to just ride it out until it quits....thanks

Broken belt needed to be replaced.
Replacing a belt on a washing machine is a pretty easy process, depending slightly on how easy it is to access the belt. On our Maytag, the belt can be accessed directly underneith the washing machine. So, I lifted the front of the machine and put a few blocks of scrap wood under the legs to hold up the front of the machine. Once that was done, there was nothing else that needed to be removed to access the pullies that the belt had to go around. The motor itself is generally adjustable to allow the belt to be changed. So, I first wrapped the belt around the largest one that spins the washin machine tub, and then wrapped it around the one that spins the water pump. Finally, I loosened the bolt on the motor to allow it to move, wrapped the belt around the motor, pulled the motor back to tighten up the belt, and tightened the bolt that holds the motor in place. It's a pretty straight forward repair that narly anyone could do thmselves.

Washer made horrible noise when entering the spin cycle.
I removed the cover on the back of the machine, detatched the 2 hoses and removed the 3 screws holding in the Vertical Style Pump - with pulley. These screws are 10 mm nut-driver. The cover if I remember correctly was a standard rather than metric so make sure you have both available.
Screwed new part in, re-attached hoses and replaced cover. The last step requires strength to hold the machine up and re-configure the belt. This is best accomplished by looping it onto the tub and the pump first, the using the tub pulley to maneuver the belt onto the motor.
Only discouragement was that it took 8 days to receive the part as the first shipment was not the correct part at the fault of the distrutor.

Machine was wailing like a stuck pig!
Pulled that sucker out from the wall and leaned him back just enough to prop a case a beer under it. Slid up under there with the biggest dust bunny I ever seen. Yanked that old belt off and threw it away. Tried to uncoil the new one and it slapped me in the nose! Got it uncoiled and around the two smaller pulleys pulling the adjustable one in to it's limit and walked the belt around the big drum pulley. By the time my wife put down her coffee and came to see if she can lend me a hand I was done!.

Broken left Hinge Pin on Lid
1. Remove 1 screw holding each of 2 Hinges - use T15 driver. 2. Push tub to one side to get access to each screw from underside. 3. remove & replace broken Hinge Pin from Lid with T15 driver. 4. Drive broken pin out of the Hinge with a punch & hammer. 5. Install new Hinge Pin to Lid. 6. Add a little Vaseline to Hinge Pin & slide Hinge Pin into Hinge. 7. Line up Hinges to holes & re-install both Hinges with Lid. Have somebody help hold the Lid in a slight angle will make re-installation easier.
