MAH14PSAAW Maytag Washer - Instructions

First and foremost, disconnect the power before anything else, then remove the door, access panel, and front of the washer,I then detached the front of the rubber boot so I could remove the plastic panel that it attaches to, that exposes the springs, I then used a vice grip to remove the springs replacing them one at a time, I also replaced the struts in the rear of the machine which requires removing the rear panel, and I used a bottle jack to support the rear of the washer tub while I changed the struts, I changed the struts first which only helped a little, the springs made the job complete and the washer now completely wrings the clothes to a damp state that dries quickly.

Had to remove the door, the face of the washer, and two face pieces between the washer and the stacked drier. I then removed and replaced the bellow. The installation of the new bellow was difficult, the first time. Getting the silicone part onto the tub is tricky as is re-installing the cable and spring. I must have not gotten the cable properly seated on the lower lip as it leaked and I hade to repeat the job the next day. The second time around was much easier. There is a learning curve, even for me, a retired electro mechanical tech. I thing someone who is not very handy would have trouble with it. This repair should be considered only by someone of intermediate or better skills.

removed the door &the top took the tightener off the bellow took old one out put new one on and clean all parts and put it back together works like a new one love it.

Replaced the belt and motor isolators. Watching your video made it very easy.

Watched the video, worked just like shown so as quick as you can take out 8 screws you can make the repair. Turned out it was the MCB but maybe this part (wax motor) Will save a main control board failure.

removed front panel. removed brakets holding top. lifted top hinged backward. Removed tension spring and cable that secures the seal to the drum. Pulled seal out. Put new seal back in. Secured with cable and spring. Reassembled top and front.

I follwoed the detailed instructions provided via the Part Select web page and instructional video. This information was very helpful. I printed the step by step paper instructions and had them available at the washer. They were very easy to understand. By doing this work myself I saved a $100.00 repair service call and installation cost and another $30.00 on parts. This resulted $130.00 ++ savings and 30 minutes of my time. When I found the WAX motor would not cycle I applied 120VAC directly to the WAX motor and machine went into SPIN CYCLE as it should have. Stopped machine and ordered replacement Machine Control Board. Replaced the part and machine works perfectly.

Remove the back panel (4 screws). Use screw driver to loosen the bands. I had to tilt the washer up on a block to "twist" the part free. Once you see the bottom of the washer, you can see how the pump attaches and how to free it from the mount. The hardest part of the job was trying to get the hoses back on using one hand. That was a hard task. I used the shop vac to suck up the water that came pouring out of the drum once I loosened the bands. Not a hard repair. Unfortunately this did not fix my issue, but I wasn't going to go through hooking the old pump back up. (Was the far more expensive timing board that was faulty)

I read the reviews from others fixing this same part, it didn't seem to difficult. It was not even hard at all. I installed the part and my washer does not leak at all. My Neptunes are old so I am very sure I will come back to buy parts here. I did install the hinges backwards at first, the didnt close so I had to take an extra five minutes to turn them around.

Replaced parts then the door wouldn't unlock, so we called a repair man and he's replacing the control board and the wireing harness, it cost 394.85 but the machine is in good shape so it was cheaper than buying a new washer and dryer, because I want them to match & the dryers only 7 years old.

Removed 4 screws and door, lowered and removed front panel,removed screws holding locking tabs for the machine top, removed the four screws holding soap reservoir, lifted the top. Located under the lid and above the doorway I pulled out the wax motor retaineing clip with pliers and the wax motor, used pliers to remove the wire connectors, hooked them up to the new part and reassembled.

When I looked up the part number, there was an installation video on the same page. I ordered the part then and there, and once it arrived, I put the iPad right on top of the machine and paused the video whenever I was doing the steps. It was TOO EASY!
