This part is able to sense the water level in the tub. When the water reaches the desired level, this switch stops the water from flowing in the tub and the washing program begins.

The pin on the lid pushes on the lever of the lid switch to tell the machine that the lid is closed.

When this part is used along with the lid switch, it can tell the motor of the washer to stop when a load is uneven. The washer will not start up until the lid is opened and then closed again.

The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences.
