The washer was stopping at each part of the wash cycle
I looked at the exploded view that was posted on the website which was a big help. I took off the back and took off the control knob. I then unscrewed the timer from the console and it took a couple of minutes to realize that the timer moved to the left and had these lugs that anchored it to the console. The fact that there was only one screw should have been a give away. The hard part was disconnecting the wiring plug from the old timer.
The install was in reverse and easy.
The only problem is that while the washer no longer stops at every step of the cycle it still periodically stops at the 2nd and the 3rd rinse.
I don't know what that is, I suspect it is a relay but I am having trouble figuring out which relay it is.
Overall, it ws a piece of cake and the washer does run better.

machine stopped at rinse cycle. shut off.
removed 5 screws from back of control panel holding back panel cover. removed control knob from front of control panel. removed screw holding Timer. slid Timer module to right and pulled Timer out. disconnected plug from old module. plugged
new module in and reversed previous removal procedure. Unfortunately this did not correct the problem as machine still stops at rinse cycle and shuts down. misdiagnosis on my part. called repairman and he diagnosed a bad control board.
Cost is 3 times cost of Timer alone.

Replace power cord that had burned from a small fire
I removed top control panel and then the old power cord that been damaged by a small fire and the just attached the new power cord and control panel. Unblievably simple and I saved myself a lot of money. Where I live in a NYC suburb this type of simple repair could easily cost $100.

Had Hurricane Harvey water high enough to short out control board and soak motor.
Used the conversion kit to replace both parts.Note the supplied instructions say to test the install by running a spin cycle before you put the door and panels back on. However the unit will not initiate a spin cycle without the door lock engaged. Not just the light switch, the actual door lock mechanism. You have to reinstall the door, then test. This error in the instructions cost me about 30 minutes.

purchased a front load washer, missing siphon cap
Ordered siphon cap according to FPS parts list. Wrong cap, but I don't care! Customer support was so helpful and willing to do everything to get me the correct cap, to include refunding my purchase price AND shipping before I even sent it back. They will be my first choice for parts in the future! My husband is a "fix it" guy, so I know that will mean a lot of purchases. I look forward to future business with this company!
