washer filled and stopped
I saw on internet that it was the lid switch and how to fix it. On this machine I have replaced timer and belts, machine is 22 years old.
A bowling friend of my father, was a Magtag repairman and salesman. For years showed me how to fix my Sears washer and dryer. When he sold me a Magtag washer and dryer, he said it was a great machine.By the way my dad worked for Easy Washer in Syracuse, They invented the spin cycle, ask Whirlpool.

Dryer would not start.
My dryer is 35 years old and thought this was it, but I googled the question and found out it was the door switch. Orderd the part and received it very fast and didn't want to wait for my husband to come home so I went on you tube and found a video how to open dryer and change switch. I did it in about 30 min. and yes it is now perfect again. No problems. I just unscrewed the old switch and put the new one in. Maybe I'll get another 35 years out of this machine. :o) Thanks for making it so easy.

Washer would not start
Very easy, and simple. Replaced part that was sent. It was a simple process, open control panel, unplug machine. Unscrewed the old part, attached the new part and starting working right away. I am very impressed with this company and the speed they shipped the parts. Will continue to use if needed and tell everyone about this site.

Washer just stopped within a wash cycle.
I called a local repair service and they wanted 95 bucks for the first 30 minuets. Any thing over that was an additional 45 bucks per half hour, plus parts. Since the washer was 19 years old I thought it would cost around 300 big ones to get it repaird. We could buy a new similar model for about 550 bucks so I said, what the heck. I'll invest the 18 bucks to see if this 80 year old can fix it. The repair instruction I read on your on line were perfect. FIXED IN ABOUT 20 MINUETS.Installed the lid switch, saved a bundle and maybe another 19 years on the washer. Thanks a bunch. Walt Apple Valley Mn

Small spring in the lid switch broke
I removed the two screws holding the switch and removed it from the machine. I then removed the broken spring and replaced it with the new one sent to me from partselect.com. I reinstalled the repaired switch and turned on the machine. It was easy as that and it works great. PartSelect.com is the best.

Seals on both Door refrigerator cracked and torn
First I took the seals out of the box they came in and let them hang on a hanger to get all the kinks out of them for a few days. Then I started at the corners of the refrigerator doors and peeled the old seals off on one door then replaced the seal by using my thumbs pushing at the corners first and once I had all four corners in I worked my way around the rest of the door, After both doors were done I used a hairdryer to expand the seals against the refrigerator case to make sure it seals tight.

Making squealing sound
Chalked the transmission with a pipe wrench. Removed the brake with grabbing on to it with vicegrips and hammered on the vicegrips to remove the brake. The new brake spun on after the first two brakes didn't. Working great now!

Machine turned on and filled, then nothing
Started with removing 4 screws on the top of the control panel. Once open, I found the schematic taped to the top. I traced the wires and found the 2 wires to test. I unplugged them and attached the jumper wire. Turn on machine and it worked. Ordered the part( it came in in about 3 days. First disconnect the power. The micro switch is mounted with 2 screws, remove these and as you disconnect the wires , attach them to the new switch, put it back in place and reattach the screws. Test .

Washer would fill but wouldnt do anything else including drain
I followed video instructions which were very helpful and getting to the lid switch assembly was not difficult. After putting it on we still had nothing. I noticed there was quite a bit a corrision on the connecters so we cleaned those with fine emery paper, reconnected them and like magic , the washer is back in business. I was very surprised the part arrived about 36 hours after I placed the order and in just a couple of hours at the most we had a working washer again.I've got partselect.com saved in my favorites for any future diy repairs needed.??

Leaking tub/stem seal
First I bought a Maytag spanner wrench on eBay, you have to have it. It was $12.00 including shipping. Then when the parts showed up the next day followed the video and had it done in just under an hour from gathering my tools and cleaning up. The video was perfect and I had no troubles what so ever. The quote from the repair services was $280.00 and I did it for less than $90.00

Washer wouldn't fill with water
Removed screws that held the control panel to the cabinet, found wiring diagram. Found I wasn't getting voltage past the lid switch when the lid was closed. Went to Partselect.com, entered model number, quickly found detailed diagram showing switch with price and availability. I ordered switch, received in 2 days. I disconnected the wiring harness from the old switch, I popped the old switch out, installed the new switch, reconnected the wiring harness and closed the control panel. I tried the washer and it worked right away. Saved at least $100 by not having to call repair man. Very happy with Partselect.com, will definately use again!

Washer is 27 years old. The washer lid bumpers were just worn out with age. It has been in constant use all these years raising 4 children with no other service or repairs. It has a matching dryer with the same track record. What a testament!
Removed the front panel with a screw driver, removed the old bumpers with a pair of pliers, replaced the bumpers and replaced the panel. All was very simple and took no time. The video on your website was most helpful. Thanks

Won't pump out the water
Order the part and put the new part on and put the washing machine cabinet back on and check the washer for the water filled up and then it's starting to go on the spin cycles.

Washer filled but not agitate or drain.
I watched the video suggested by Part Select, it was easy to follow. I had first changed the belts because they were worn but that wasn't the problem, the next suggestion was the lid switch assembly which was the answer. This washer was produced in 1989 and works like new again!
