The washer would stick in between cycles and not continue
Removed the back panel from the control panel which was 3 phillips head screws and 2 hex screws. Remove the front knob from the timer, this is completed by removing the round center plate on the knob by simply pulling it off and then remove the small plastic pin in the center of the knod underneath the round plate. The pin holds the knob in place and once removed the knob can be pulled off along with the plate behind it.
Now from the back inside the contrlo panel simply unplug the wiring harness from the timer. Remove the circuit board from the timer also, it pulls off easily. There is one hex head screw holding the timer in place and once removed the entire timer assembly can be removed by rerleasing the right side and sliding the assembly to the right and out.
Slide the new timer in place, secure with the hex head screw, reconnect the wiring harness and press the circuit board back in place on the bottom of the new timer. Close up the back panel and replace the front knob components onto the new timer and you are ready to go. In all it took about 40 minutes and saved me over $200 for a service call.

would no longer spin with a load of clothes, but would still drain the water.
Replaced the transmission pulley and bearing. Also I put on a new drive belt. I did the repairs exactly the way Steve does in the repair videos.
Replace the Transmission Pulley and Bearing Kit - 5:44
Replaced the Drive Belt 52 inches - 1:10
Also I replaced the drain pump even though it still worked, because the machine is 19 years old.
Replace the Drain Pump video - 6:22 min.
After doing the repairs, the Maytag Atlantis washer now works fine.

Oil leak from lower lip seal
I didn’t have special tool for brake but punch and hammer worked. Seal was easy to replace. Several videos online to show you how. It wasn’t worth it to tear apart the transmission and buy more parts/seals (if they were even available). But I didn’t know how much oil was in it. I drilled a hole in the side to somewhat check level and added 80-90 gear oil. It was almost empty and added almost a quart. Used a self taping screw/bolt with gasket sealer to plug the hole. I got 34 yrs out of this washer. If it fails, oh well. Just hate to buy a new one that only last 10yrs if im lucky.

Broken Lid Cam, Worn Hinges
Simple remove and replace. Plastic cam and hinges simply snap out, replacement parts snap right back in. Needle nose pliers were helpful to remove broken lid cam. With hinges and lid removed, took advantage of great opportunity to clean lid and and top of washer.

Auger top would hit the top lid
The replacement was very easy, just one bolt and RR was a snap. However, the first part that came was defective and I called the 800 number, spoke to the rep and the part came the next day. Excellent customer service, and would do business again

washer agitator fins snapped off
I first took the fabric softener dispenser off and used
a ratchet wrench to take the nut off. I then removed
the agitator, put the new one on and reversed the process. It was extremely easy!

I had water leaking from the top of the tub.
I opened up the top of the washer which exposed the tub, I took the top ring off the tub and under in side of the ring is the seal. Took the old one out and put the new one in. The old seal was completely wore out.
It was real easy.
Finding the part is usually the hardest part, but thanks to Parts Select finding the part was the easiest part of the repair.

Pump locked up so washer stopped working
Removed inspection panel on rear of washer. Pump right there. Removed inlet and outlet hoses with pliers on squeeze clamps. Three 3/8" size self tapping screws were removed and old pump came right out. Reversed process with new pump from this site that fit perfectly. New pump was an upgrade factory part that mounted inside washer without a mounting plate as the old one did.

I removed the screws to loosen the belt, took off the old belt and put on the new belt. Tightened it up and has been working ever since.
Thank you, Lester

The auger section of this part would no longer stay attached to the lower agitator part due to prior repair work
Use a blade to pop off the fabric softener dispenser cup. Use socket and extension to unscrew the single hex bolt that attaches the assembly to the shaft. Lift off the assembly and recover the flat washer. Install the new assembly over the shaft and install the original hex bolt and washer. Tighten firmly. Snap the dispenser cup back in place.
