WM2650HRA (ACREPUS) LG Washer - Instructions

Wife called me and said the washing machine just flooded the Landry room. I looked at it and didn't see anything wrong. Took the top off and the back off and started looking for a leak, did not see anything. Took the front part of the washer apart thinking the drain hole was plugged up where the rubber boot is. It was ok after taking the big rubber boot off or whatever that is called i was not getting anywhere. I put it back together left the top and the back off. I turned the water on and started the washer on a quick cycle looking for a leak. I found the bellows at the inlet had a small leak fixed that and started the washer again. So what i found out was the clean out drain plug was not in tight letting water out as it was washing after i tightened it all was ok. So i did find a leak that was small that we never saw. The hardest part was putting that wire clamp on the rubber boot it took two people to do that.

Went to U tube found several good videos relative to the problem, suggest you do the same. Heavy rubber diaphragm seal retainer spring VERY difficult to expand, bought a replacement spring with less tension and it worked fine. Plastic clip at the back of the cabinet does not have to be removed. Squeeze it and it will unlatch to free the hose, The part supplied was an exact replacement for the original, it worked just fine. Then reversible basket ,during spring depressed pliers
Put new gasket on inside flange first put spring back on
Put front washer panel back on and put screws back in panel holes
Put door seal on front flange and reinstalled spring on new door seal.Put too back on and finished clean up

Not too bad, had a neighbor help with the project as washer/dryer were stacked. removed dryer from on top out of way. Drained washer, tilted on side to get access from down below. Second person help here. unscrewed drain pump from front, Used pliers to unclamp hoses, disconnect wires to motor (already pulled power from wall) pushed plastic clip holding in unit and pulled out. New unit was factory new, not a knockoff. We took extra time to clean out hoses, especially from the main washer unit, it was a simple unscrew clamp and pull hose down. We sprayed out gunk from hoses and parts going back in. Once new unit was ready, installed back and reconnected hose and power. The clamps were somewhat of a pain with the overall size and angles to get them seated and on correctly. Much easier to take off, but take the time to reinstall correctly. Don’t need water leaking. Motor much quieter now, wife is happy.

Totally dis-assembled this washer to check the bearings and drum plus fix the pump problem. We wash dog blankets occasionally and found the little drain hose from the front door gasket was clogged with hair. It makes a 90 degree turn and it gets caught there. THAT fixed the smell issue. As far as the pump replacement goes its quite easy. Videos online are your friend.

I followed various tube videos. The vides were very easy to follow.
But the most important thing to have to do the job is washing machine spring removal tool. This tool I had to order it online unable to locate in store.

Took the one off that was leaking and put the other one on

E. Z. hardest part (which isn't hard) was moving the appliance to reach the back, then putting the appliance back into place. the actual repair (swapping out valve) took less time than that to do.

The web interface is nice, however in this situation it references the wrong part which was not known until the item arrived. Customer Service handled return, however I had to call LG directly to confirm correct part number (LG p/n 4866ER0004A = p/n PS3524040) but this was only after LG also gave wrong p/n. When replacement part arrived the internal concrete had a crack in it. The part is basically a plastic shell that is filled with concrete. However the opening (about 1 x 4) is left open and with the concrete having a crack in it the piece will vibrate together and continue to break down over time (which is what happened to the original one) Before installing I chose to fill opening with epoxy and a plastic layer, then covered with electrical tape to seal it in. I feel this item is poorly designed from LG. Additionally this item was poorly packaged by PS when shipping which caused the damage (it weights about 15 lbs and was allowed to float around in a large over-sized box filled with large air pillows). -Unplug washer
-Turn off water supply
-Pull machine away from wall
-Remove two screws on the back holding the top panel in place
-Slide top panel toward the back and remove
-Unplug electrical conectors to the control panel, remove screws and take out panel.
-Remove lint trap plastic door cover bottom front left and screw holding plastic housing.
-Take housing out.
-Remove screw that is behind plastic panel holding front panel.
-Using spanner, release spring clamp holding gasket to the front panel.
-Remove top screws holding front panel on and take off panel.
-Remove hose clamp and hose at bottom of gasket.
-Release inner spring clamp on gasket to washer drum and take out gasket.
-Install new gasket and spring clap to drum.
-Reverse the order to reassemble.
