Would not pump out water, F21 codes checked and cleared all hoses and trap before pump still no luck.
Well first of all when you buy this washer, the salesperson should tell you about checking the drain catch (ahead of the pump) and emptying out whatever get's caught in there. Never had a clue until it wouldn't work, then did a search on the internet, and darn if I didn't find specific instructions on how to open and clean out. Mine was packed full of hair pins, small change, lint, buttons, etc, all kinds of stuff. Guessing that is why the pump went out in the first place, it was so packed full that the pump could not draw any water through. But even after I cleaned it out, the pump was already shot. So called a service man, he said the pump would cost me around $200, then his labor to put it in, plus a $68 service call to just come and look at it, and $68 when he comes back to replace it. So I searched the internet for how to replace, came up with a very detailed You Tube video on how to replace Whirlpool Duet Pump. So ordered my pump from PartsSelect, just over $100, and replaced it myself. Super easy, only about 5 minutes. Thanks! —A very determined housewife!

replace drain pump
The only issue I had was getting the hose from the tub re-installed, but that was my fault, the pump went right in. It couldn't have been easier. I was very pleased, received the replacement pump in just a couple of days, packaged very well for shipping, and had it installed in a matter of minutes. It took longer to take off front panel to access pump than it did to install it. Very pleased with "Part Select".....will use again!

Unplug Unit, remove lower cover screws with screwdriver that has 1/4 drive at end, put 2 gallon bucket at strainer remove water. Remove inlet hose clamp and outlet hose clamp, disconnect pump motor wiring plug, aggressive push to RIGHT popped right out. put a dab of Vaseline on new units rubber base slide back in reverse order. Plugged in check for leaks put back together, Repair took less than 15 minutes, working great! WHAT I FOUND IN STRAINER: LEGO'S-CHANGE-PAPER CLIPS, enough things to destroy the impeller !

Noisy water pump. Spinner was broken.
I used the video at parts select as a review, then just followed it. Easy de-install, reminder there's water in the line be prepared with a pot or vase to hold the water. Easy install. Washer runs perfect now. As quiet as when we bought it. I always try to fix before I re-buy, not a big green guy but I try to keep stuff working and out of land fills. Also the part was at my door in 1 day, Awsome!.

It was making lots of noise. Halfway through the cycle it would not pump all the water out
First unplug the washer. Make sure and drain washer completely. If not drained remove front panel , Remove 2.5 inch Plastic drain cover which has a catch bin on it. This will allow it to drain the washer. Put pan underneath to catch the water. Tip washer back and prop up with something 6 inches tall to get to the screws underneath. A cement block would work well. Use pliers to squeeze hose clamp together to remove the Hoses. Gently lift up The flip down cover Over the top of the wire harness Push in the tab on the wire harness, Gently pull back on the wire harness. Remove two mountings screws from the bottom of the washer. Slide the whole pump housing to the right and Lift up. Now the pump is been removed. Inspect inside the hoses For Debrie. Remove anything that is left in the hoses. Reinstall the pump in reverse order from the way you took it off. Leave front panel off Make sure all hoses and wire harness are hooked up. Run wash cycle to make sure there are no leaks. Do not put hands in while running. If no leaks replace front panel. Not sure if this is the right way But this is the way we did it and it worked well. Washer runs quieter now than it did when we got it

The washer was sending an error code (F21) and it was getting worse about draining I tore it apart twice and decided to order a new pump through your website and it can quick and I installed it and it works perfectly now after a year of cleaning the filter and not getting anywhere
My dryer is on top my washer so I removed the dryer and pulled the washer out. I had to get rid of the water that was inside so I used my wet vacuum on the drain hose and sucked it out I then removed the front cover and the I tipped it back and removed two screws from the bottom of the pump bracket underneath the washer and moved the two clams on the pump hoses back to uncouple the hoses. I removed the pump and installed the new one and hocked everything back including the wires to the pump which is just a quick connect and pushed it back into place and it worked like new

made a loud knockin banging noise on spin cycle
the repair cost was about 1300$ from a repairman! and they wanted to replace the complete inside drum assembly, so i decided to break it down myself and i'm an average do it yourselfer 1. unplug machine 2. remove water hoses 3. remove the top 4. remove back panel and front complete 5. remove all inside connecting wires but leave them close as to make it easy to reconnect 6. take all three shocks loose from bottom of drum and remove all counter weights (concrete) 2 on front and 1 in back as to keed drum ballanced for removal and 7. remove the complete drum 8. set drum down door side down and remove pully and then all the metal clips with a flat screw driver and lift back portion of the outer drum up and remove. then the inner drum will be visable 9. take the 6 Torx (star) screws out of the drum support and remove! and semply reverse the process for assembly! taken photos of the process will help the assembly process as well

Water leaking from bottom of washer
Removing and reassembling the front and top panels was very easy and straight forward. I started by opening the clean out next to the pump and to my surprise found 2 shiney pennies a rusted paper clip and a small nail. I inspected the bellows and found 2 - 1/4 inch slits near the drain holes in the bottom of the bellows, not big enough for the pennies to pass through so how did the pennies get there. Installing the clamp to the drum was fairly difficult. The hardest part of the bellow installation was getting the front spring clamp lined up and stretched. I used the old spring clamp, maybe a new one would halve been easier.I used some duct tape to hold the wire clamp in place and a screwdriver in one end of the spring and with a great deal of effort stretched the spring enough to get the clamp over the rim. I also sprayed some water on the groove in the bellow to get to seat on the rim
