broken dampening strap

The washer belt started slipping - this is not a hard DIY
The video on this site was very good and simple compared to others so if you are replacing a belt please follow the directions given here. A few comments:
* when you compare the new belt to the old do not panic - the old belt is much larger which would explain the slipping.
* get the belt installation tool - it is worth it
* use three tie wraps instead of one. I never got a single one tight enough to hold the belt. using three it went straight on.
* as in the video, move the belt around to the right once the tie wraps are in place
* once you start to move the belt onto the drum pulley be sure the belt is hanging below the pulley and it is clear of the motor mounting brackets. There is not enough clearance if the belt rest on top of the pulley as you move it around. The motor mounting bracket seems to want to catch the belt and you run the risk of cutting the belt.
It took me less than 45 minutes with my learning curve so the next one will take less than 25.

had a pin hole in the drain pipe
order the part and replaced it and it works just great! Water wasn't being pumped out.
The pump would stick and not pump the water out from time to time. I have removed the pump before and cleaned it so to replace it wasn't much different for me. The instructions on the web site were pretty straight and easy to follow.

A banging noise while the machine was washing.
The repair was done like the video suggested to do and in the order. And it worked well.In the step by step procedure.

Washer would not drain or Spin!
First I unplugged the washer and then removed the front panel of the washing machine using the puddy knife running it along the top edge approximately 3 inches inward from each corner found the tab on each end and pushed in with the knife until the panel popped loose from the top tabs. I then located the pump motor on the lower front right side of the machine and compared it to the new one that I had purchased,(they were the same) Note;be sure all the water is drained from the washer otherwise get ready for a bath approximately 1 gallon of water came out of the drain hose that is located on the back of the pump after using the pliers to squeeze the clap and remove the hose,this was the worst of the whole job,then remove the inlet hose on the top by squeezing the spring clamp with the pliers. Next unplug the harness located in the front of the pump,and then last take a 1/4 drive ratchet w/extension and a 10 mm socket and remove the 2 hex screws on the mounting plate. Install the new pump and motor assembly in reverse order with the instructions above and you should be washing clothes in no time. Thanks

Noisy washer, especially while spinning.
Take off front. Take off top. Pull off agitator. Pull off agitator coupler, after removing bolt holding in place. Attempt to remove hub nut, no joy. Wound up cutting the nut with a Dremel tool and chiseling the nut off. Closer inspection revealed a bad transmission. Due to the cost of the transmission, we will continue to use the machine until it completely fails.

tub wouldn't drain
Easiest thing I ever did on the computer. U tube helped me diagnose the problem and how to remove the old pump and install the new. Parts Select menu was easy to navigate and had a picture of the pump I needed. The cost was affordable and I got the satisfaction of making the repair myself.

Make sure you have something to secure the belt to the big wheel.
It was hard for me. I'm a 54 year old woman. I tied it to the wheel with twine. It kept popping off, right it the time I would just about have it on. Several times !!!! I had no zip ties. Finally I tied the part of the craft stick on tightly. Put the belt on the motor rod and as much of the wheel as it would allow. Started turning slowly. There's really no room. I finally wiped it. There was one time that I sounded like the man off the movie Christmas Story. My youngest daughter is 13. She started laughing. It wasn't easy but I BLESS GOD for it. Thank all of you so much.
