WDSR4110TAAA General Electric Washer - Instructions

This was a very simple repair. I Pulled straight up on the agitator until it popped off. Then unscrewed the bolt that holds the coupling in place. Due to some corrosion and crud, it took a little effort to get the coupling off. Then I spent a couple minutes cleaning the tub and shaft. The new coupling slid on easily. I attached it with the new bolt, then put the agitator back on and pressed down until it snapped into place.

Reaching into the washer I placed both hands on the bottom of the agitater 180 degrees apart and lifted the agitater straight up out of the tub. Using a 7/16 socket I removed the coupling kit. The new one slid right on. I secured it with the new bolt supplied with the kit. The agitater went right back on the new coupler and I was done. Fast, simple and inexpensive. Repair was so simple. I used both hands to pull of the inside assembly of the washing machine. Loosened bolt with a pair of pliers. Replaced worn out agitator with new one along with new bolt. I tightened the bolt and pur back on the inside assembly and was done in less than five minutes. The part came to my house in only three days and the instructions were easy to read and understand!

Took the top cup off the agitator, popped out the agitator by grabbing it with both hands and yanking, unscrewed the nut to the agitator coupling, put the new one on and tightened it up, popped the agitator back on. Works great no problems. Though I did find out that the factory had changed the part sometime ago and it actually did need to be replaced.

Resigning myself to the fact that the washer was broken and I would need to buy a new one, I decided to pull it apart to see if I could see what the problem was (why not if your getting a new one anyway) Once I muscled the agitator off and undid the screw I discovered that the agitator coupler sat on a metal piece that had grooves. Alas...the coupler was worn...there were no grooves left inside the plastic piece. Wondering if I could even find this part I wondered onto this website, plugged in the part number and there it was with pictures and measurements and cheap! Needless to say I ordered it, why not, if it doesn't work I will buy a washer anyway. The part arrived within days. I unpacked the box, opened the plastic, slid it into place, tightened the new screw, replaced the agitator, plugged it back in, started it up and the washing machine was agitating like new. I wrote this long story because the repair was so easy it's not even funny, and I was just going to buy a new washer...

I pulled off the agitator and realized that the coupler was freespinning, it should not do that. I then removed the bolt on top then removed coupler, it was stripped. Got the part number which is on the coupler itself and ordered a new one. Which by the way a newer style is now the oem replacement. Got the new one installed now it is good as new. All you will need to perform this work is a 11mm socket. Takes 5 minutes.

This was an inexpensive part with high probability of needing it, so I ordered it before beginning to take the washer machine apart based on "noisy" symptom. The fabric softener cup pulled straight up easily with no tool. Then, the agitator pulled straight up easily with no tool. The bolt was easy to get to with socket set and the coupler pulled up using 2 small pieces of wood as levers to pull it up evenly and straight. This didn't solve my noise problem, but was an easy and inexpensive fix to try. FYI...when I continued trying to troubleshoot, I took the belt off and the noise stopped, so I think the transmission is my problem. I tried for 2 days with WD-40, then with C-L-R to get the hub nut to move, and couldn't. I then tried to split the nut using a screwdriver and a hammer and it appears to be split in 2 places, but the nut still won't budge. I listed the washer on craigslist today too frustrated with the hub nut to continue the repair job. The cost of a repairman plus the transmission would have been over half of a new washer machine, and I still would have had a 8+ year-old motor, and I ran across a great deal on a scratch and dent model at Sears, so I am replacing the washer instead of repairing it.

First I removed the dasher by placing rope around the fins of the dasher. Wrapped the rope around a 2 x 4 approximately the width of the washer. Standing on the washer I pulled up on the board and presto. Up came the dasher, removed the bolt out of the bell, removed the bell. New part came in the next day after the order was placed! Great service. To install the new bell, used the new bolt sent with the part. Centered and aligned the dasher on the bell. Pushed down and locked in place. Turned on washer and started filling with water. Washed clothes within 15 minutes from start to finish.

I did this by myself and it was so easy. I'm a tiny female so it didn't take a lot of muscle and I only got one bruise :) I pulled the agitator off, there was no screw holding it in place. Removed the screw that was holding the coupler on with a socket set. Put the new coupler in place, used the socket set to screw it on, popped the agitator back on and crossed my fingers.....It worked like it was brand new. So happy, apparently the old coupler was stripped out. Super fast shipping and I will come back for other parts as needed. Thanks so much!

Easiest repair ever. My wife actually did the repair because I thought I'd need more time to do it. She just pulled the agitator staight up and out then removed the bolt holding the coupling, pulled out the defective coupling and put the new one in, replaced the bolt, slid the agitator back on and it worked perfectly! Thanks for making a $60 or more repair call a $13 dollar self repair. And that includes shipping! We will always use your site for future fixes.

Found out the screw was stripped from the agitator, probably because the washer is over 10 yrs old. We got the right part! The parts store was very fast in shipping, in fact we got it the next day! Highly recommend PartSelect!!!!!!!!!!

Removed fabric softener cover by pulling up. Then removed agitator by grabbing at the bottom and pulling up. Note I did read online that some may have a bolt holding the agitator down thats what it seemed like when I read it. Mine did not have a bolt. after removing the agitator there is a 10 or an 11mm bolt holding it down remove that and the coupler comes right out then install in reverse order. All done. Also its a ge adora washer.

pulled out the center agitator, undid the nut , put the new one on , easiest repair ever, less that 13 dollars. and the part came in 2 days, wow, I am impressed with your company!!!!!
