removed agitator and coupling, found splines stripped. replaced coupling and installed agitator.

I was searching the web and came across this site. I ordered my part that was needed, on Thursday and received it on Saturday. I was very pleased with the quick shipment and price of the part as was my wife. I had it back together in 5 minutes . Thanks Paul Stone

This was a very simple repair. I Pulled straight up on the agitator until it popped off. Then unscrewed the bolt that holds the coupling in place. Due to some corrosion and crud, it took a little effort to get the coupling off. Then I spent a couple minutes cleaning the tub and shaft. The new coupling slid on easily. I attached it with the new bolt, then put the agitator back on and pressed down until it snapped into place.

First I yanked off the agitator. Then I undid the bolt holding the coupler onto the center of the machine. Took the worn down coupler off, replaced it with the new coupler and bolt. Good as new. GE was going to charge me $85 just for a someone to walk through the door. After parts and labor I am sure they would have charged me $200. I did it on my own for $20 (had the part rush shipped so that was twice the price of the part).

The project was pretty easy. After removing the
11 screws on the inside of the door , the handle assembly was right in the open.I unplugged the 2 switches and installed the new handle.

First, I removed the agitator by reaching in the washing machine and pulling up on the agitator until it popped off. Next, I removed the 1/4" bolt that attached the coupling to the spline. Then I removed the coupling. After removing it, I replaced it with a new one, installed a new bolt, and reattached the agitator. It took 2 days for me to get the part(ordered on a Sun)but only took me 10 minutes to repair.

I first looked it up on the Internet to see what would be the most simplest way of doing ... I found that brut force was the answer . Take the fabric softner cap off the top of the agitator then with both hands pull the whole agitator up with a lot of force. Once this is done you'll be able to see the coupling and a 7/16 bolt ( 1/4-20 ). Holding it to the metal shaft. Take the bolt out put the new nonestripped coupling in and the rest is a walk in the park.

Husband took the machine apart. We found your website - put in the parts number...and up pops a picture! Very cool! We ordered and the machine was fixed within 4 days - easy smooth! I would highly recommend this site. The part shipped out the day we ordered the part!

First I removed the dasher by placing rope around the fins of the dasher. Wrapped the rope around a 2 x 4 approximately the width of the washer. Standing on the washer I pulled up on the board and presto. Up came the dasher, removed the bolt out of the bell, removed the bell. New part came in the next day after the order was placed! Great service. To install the new bell, used the new bolt sent with the part. Centered and aligned the dasher on the bell. Pushed down and locked in place. Turned on washer and started filling with water. Washed clothes within 15 minutes from start to finish.

I pulled the top of the agitator off (the softener dispenser) then pulled the agitator itself off. I had to pull with some force. I used the socket wrench to remove the bolt on top of the agitator coupling. I then pulled off the old agitator coupling, replaced it with the new part. Used the socket wrench to tighten the new bolt. Lined up the slots on the new coupling with the agitator top, it slid on with a little resistance. The last part to replace was the softener dispencer.

Pulled off agitator with little effort. One 7/16 bolt to remove and the coupler came right off. Pushed on new coupler, replaced with new provided bolt, pushed agitator back on and was back in business!! Very simple inexpensive repair. Thanks Partsselect for your quick parts turnaround!

I did this by myself and it was so easy. I'm a tiny female so it didn't take a lot of muscle and I only got one bruise :) I pulled the agitator off, there was no screw holding it in place. Removed the screw that was holding the coupler on with a socket set. Put the new coupler in place, used the socket set to screw it on, popped the agitator back on and crossed my fingers.....It worked like it was brand new. So happy, apparently the old coupler was stripped out. Super fast shipping and I will come back for other parts as needed. Thanks so much!

Easiest repair ever. My wife actually did the repair because I thought I'd need more time to do it. She just pulled the agitator staight up and out then removed the bolt holding the coupling, pulled out the defective coupling and put the new one in, replaced the bolt, slid the agitator back on and it worked perfectly! Thanks for making a $60 or more repair call a $13 dollar self repair. And that includes shipping! We will always use your site for future fixes.

pulled out the center agitator, undid the nut , put the new one on , easiest repair ever, less that 13 dollars. and the part came in 2 days, wow, I am impressed with your company!!!!!
