WNSR3090V1AA General Electric Washer - Instructions

Easy as it gets. I did this repair while playing Wii with my 8 year old and cooking supper... Still no more than a 10 minute fix.

Place a towel on one side of the washer so you won't scratch it.

Tie a loop of rope around the middle of the agitator between the upper and lower fins. Wrap the other end of the rope around a 2x4 ( I used a level), or anything similar and wind it around until the 2x4 is pulled down level with the top, keeping one end on the towel.

Yank the other end firmly a few times, and the agitator will seperate from the coupling. I had to snatch it pretty hard.

I removed the 7/16" bolt from the coupling, pulled it off the spline and replaced it with the new one.

The agitator slid right back into place with no trouble, and it is good as new.

What seemed like an expensive repair, or even the need for a new appliance was essentially removing one bolt and a replacing a $6 part.

My husband remove the agitator and found that it was worn. I googled the problem and one of the websites that came up was PartSelect. My husband watched the easy to follow video and had me order the Agitator Coupling Kit. It arrived in just two days. It took him 15 minutes to install and I started washing immediately. It cost us $13.22 and saved us $800 to $1200 if a new washing machine would of had to be purchased. I pulled the front panel off as described in the video on Partselect.coms video (very helpfull) and unpluged the pump, I was able to test the original pump and determine it to be good and ultimatly that was not the problem. However had it been it would have been a simple fix. returning the unused part was super simple and painfree!

First I uplugged the machine and removed the front cover of the machine by prying outward at the top corners with a screwdriver. Then I removed the two bolts from the mounting bracket and unplugged the electrical wires. Then using a pliers I squeazed the hosed clamps and slid them back on the hoses and pulled the hoses off the pump.

To install the new pump, simply reverse the order and check for leaks. The whole process took about 20 minutes.

I looked up what others said about the same problem. Took their advice, ordered the pump and it was installed in less than 30 minutes. This is the third time that we have ordered parts and have had excellent service. We usually get the parts the next day or at most two days. took the old bolt and coupling off replaced with the new one and it's agitating great. I watched the video on the this website that explained how to do it and it was real easy and a cheap fix!

This repair is as simple as it gets. Pull up on the agitator to reveal the Agitator Coupling. Remove the old coupling and reinstall the new one. In addition to this, I found the source of a majority of the mold smell inside the washer machine. There was a build up of detergent under the Agitator. A few scraps of a puddy knife, a shop vac, and the odor was gone. The only caution is to be careful pulling up on the agitator because you could potentially hit your self in the face because it will come off fast. Easy, Easy, Easy.

I pulled off the agitator and realized that the coupler was freespinning, it should not do that. I then removed the bolt on top then removed coupler, it was stripped. Got the part number which is on the coupler itself and ordered a new one. Which by the way a newer style is now the oem replacement. Got the new one installed now it is good as new. All you will need to perform this work is a 11mm socket. Takes 5 minutes.

This was an inexpensive part with high probability of needing it, so I ordered it before beginning to take the washer machine apart based on "noisy" symptom. The fabric softener cup pulled straight up easily with no tool. Then, the agitator pulled straight up easily with no tool. The bolt was easy to get to with socket set and the coupler pulled up using 2 small pieces of wood as levers to pull it up evenly and straight. This didn't solve my noise problem, but was an easy and inexpensive fix to try. FYI...when I continued trying to troubleshoot, I took the belt off and the noise stopped, so I think the transmission is my problem. I tried for 2 days with WD-40, then with C-L-R to get the hub nut to move, and couldn't. I then tried to split the nut using a screwdriver and a hammer and it appears to be split in 2 places, but the nut still won't budge. I listed the washer on craigslist today too frustrated with the hub nut to continue the repair job. The cost of a repairman plus the transmission would have been over half of a new washer machine, and I still would have had a 8+ year-old motor, and I ran across a great deal on a scratch and dent model at Sears, so I am replacing the washer instead of repairing it.

The washer did not Agitate although it did spin. So the motor appeared to be good. I noticed that you could rotate the agitator by hand, that didn't seem right. So I pulled the Agitator off the coupler. Now the coupler can rotate by hand around the spline shaft. I removed the bolt holding the coupler to the spline shaft. The spline shaft looked good. Ordered the new couple and installed it in 10 minutes. I was fortunate that the bolt came off easy. I didn't need to use the motor to assist in getting the bolt free.

First I yanked off the agitator. Then I undid the bolt holding the coupler onto the center of the machine. Took the worn down coupler off, replaced it with the new coupler and bolt. Good as new. GE was going to charge me $85 just for a someone to walk through the door. After parts and labor I am sure they would have charged me $200. I did it on my own for $20 (had the part rush shipped so that was twice the price of the part).

Replaced the agitator coupling in about 5 minutes, there was only one bolt and it went back togeather. THANK YOU Parts Select..........

This was an easy fix. I popped off the agitator, un bolted the agitator couplier and replaced it with the new one. The part arrived in 2 days, the job took 2 minuites. No calling or driving around to find the part, no service charge or repair bill. washer working like new!!
