Door lock mechanism broke and washer would not run
You must remove the top of the washer with screws on rear of washer. Top slides forward to remove. Once top is removed you can reach door lock mechanism from the top. Two screws must be removed from the front of the washer where lock enters mech. You can grab the mechanism from above by the wires that run to it. Undo wiring harness and insert new mehanism. Slide into place and attach in the front of washer with screws. This job is easy and can save you a lot on repair bills!

Door Lock and switch didn't work
Using a youtube video, (which might have actually been related to parts select), the door lock replacement went smoothly AFTER I couldn't SEE the SPRING around the rubber boot, as the spring was the SAME color and with a little bit of dust on it, was indistinguishable. As soon as I found it, the rest was fairly simple. I MIGHT even try replacing the moldy boot on these stupid front loaders...I paid for overnight shipping as I also had Geek squad guys on hold for repair, and needed to know fast, whether or not this would do the trick. HOORAY!

A part of the door lock assembly was broken, causing the washing machine not to start.
The entire process, from diagnosing the problem, ordering the part, and instalation was fantastic! I ordered the part Friday afternoon and had it at my door Saturday afternoon. I was so relieved to read the installation posts from other customers demonstrating how common this issue is and how easy it was to fix! I simply watched the installation video that was sent with my confirmation email. It is also conveniently located on your website. I had the new part installed in less than 30 minutes AND before my husband got home! Thank you Partselect.com!

Washer would not go in high spin
It is a front load washer with a dryer stacked on top of it.Insaw a video on u tube. I took a neddle nose pliers ang took a spring loaded metal ring off that is holding the grey rubber boot on . I peeled it back just enough to reach ih and get the door lock in hand.I then took a phillip screw driver and removed the two screws un the front off holding the door lock..I then reversed instructions, and put the new lock in.The complete job took lease than 5 minutes, and the part did the trick. My washer works as good as new.

Washer would not start after I opened and closed the door.
Removed the door lock and switch assembly. With needle nose pliers, I removed the metal ring around the washer gasket. Removed two screws on assembly and removed the entire assembly. Noted part number and ordered part which came in 3 days. Reversed the above instuctions for removing the assembly. Was washing within the hour. By the way, I am a 65 year old woman.

The plastic striker on the front loader door broke off, preventing the door from locking and thus, the washer wouldn't start.
I merely unscrewed the two screws at the top and bottom of the striker, removed the broken part, and screwed on the new one. It probably took about five minutes. I was very proud, as I was able to identify the problem, order the part and install it without involving my husband :-)

Front glass broke
The front loading washer door was wobbely so I took it apart as per wife request. Hinge looked fine, bushings were fine so I started to put it back together... then the glass slipped out and to the ground. Take the time to remove the door hinge and assemble on a flat surface, then place the whole assemble back on the washer machine. Don't try to take door apart while still attached to machine. Try it you will understand and then you will be buying a new glass front.

no final spin
removed top of washer then removed the screws that held the lock in place. only hard part was the lack of room to slide my hand down to get the lock from inside the washer, and put the new one in. managed to find a tech sheet in the washer to put the washer in a "service mode" that is where i could make the washer do a final spin.but it still gave me a code that the door lock was not working properly.(even though it still locked)replaced the lock with a new one and the code disappeared and did a full final spin.. thanks guys

The door on the washer would not lock, therefore, you could not wash clothes.
After some research online about my Frigidaire Washer, I pre-determined that the problem could likely be the lock mechanism. I ordered the part and it arrived within 3 business days. My son removed the screws from the back of the washer, slid the top off and removed the old part and replaced it with the new part. It took about 20 mins. The machine is now working properly again. The door catch that I ordered did not work with the door lock I ordered. However, the old door catch that was still in good working order does work with the new door lock and switch assembly that I purchased.
