Washer making loud noise when water pump operating, still worked but made very loud noise
I ordered the replacement pump assembly (water pump)for my Atlantis model maytag washer, removed the old one, installed the new one and works like a charm. The only difficulty I had was trying to figure out how to remove the cover on the front of the washer, to remove the clips, it slid side to side instead of popping out, found the instructions on-line, NO instructions came with the pump but if you have any common sense when it comes to repairs it was easy to remove and install the new part.

Made an awful sqealing noise and did not spin the water out all the way
Leaned the washer back and propped it up and changed the belt. This is the first time ever repairing an appliance. I feel very good about myself as I am 49 yrs old and did not have to call a repairman for this.

drive belt broke
pulled out the washing machine that was the hard part, tilted it back checked too make sure everything spun by hand just to see if that was reason for the belt to snap but everything spun by hand nice and smoothly poped on the drive belt and everything works fine back in business.

Under belt was used and ready to let go..
First I am a woman and was able to do it, and if I can do it anyone should be able to do this. The service call alone was 75.00, and the belt was 23.00 with shipping. First we tilted the washer at a 45 degree angle and I removed the belt, and just rolled the newer one on the track. That was it and I was done. My washer now purrs like a kitten love it. And Part Select sent out my part and I recieved it next day, thank you for wonderful service that kind of service is hard to find. <3

washing machine filled with water, nothing else happened.
Spoke with a trusted repair man, described the problem best as I could. I smelled a burning rubber smell. Got on Internet for troubleshooting problems, 77% likely a drive belt. BINGO! Ordered a new belt, took old one off, cleaned the pulley ( it had burnt rubber stuck on it, difficult to remove) lightly sanded pulley just so it would be really smooth. replaced belt. Magic, it worked. I am no repair woman, but carefully listening and explaining helped. Oh, belt is under the very bottom of machine. Very easy to get to, just tilt back and lodge at an angle and make sure it doesn't move.

dead pump
I first opoen the front panel of the washer. That was a bit tricky. Had to slide a thin blade between the top of the washer and the front panel, pushed in to release the "clamp" and gently raise the top, it hinges on the back.
The rest was undoing three bolts, refit the new pump and put the belt back on.
The part cost me less then $65.00.
The repair estimate by the local repair man was $ 250.00.
I am very happy.
Thank you PartSelect.

drive pulley broke off from drain pump
Raised washer. Identified problem. Removed from panel, gaining access to drain pump. Removed hoses, replaced pump. NOTE: I used blue Loctite on pump mounting bolts. Reinstalled from panel, lowered washer, cleaned drum. Ran one (1) cycle with hot water and bleach ONLY.

Pulley Bearings Siezed; Pump Quit
Turned it over to my 35-year old son who removed pump and pulley assembly and the old drive belt, then simply replaced with new assembly and belt from PartSelect! Could not have been easier - from my viewpoint.

Bearings in mechanical pump seized.
Unbolt old pump with three bolt from top of pump inside the washer. Use needlenose pliers to remove intake and output hoses from old pump. Remove belt from pulley under washer. Reverse procedure to install. I was worried because there were two pumps listed for this model number, one being $95 and the other being $40. I bought the cheaper one and prayed. It worked just fine. Fixed a $500 washer that was on it's way to the dump and made $100 in the process!
