I replaced the male end first hoping that a change in the female part would not be needed. Unfortunately no. I used needle nosed pliers to pry the male part out and pushed the new part in. The female part of the door catch was more difficult. I didn't do it in "textbook" form, but got the job done with pliers and a screwdriver. Worth every penny to fix correctly instead of rigging it. Do it!

After removing front door panel (2 screws) I removed the old latch catch and replace with the new part. 4 minutes later, the door was back together, the dryer was running and the door was staying closed.

The only thing I had to do was hammer the catch inside the square fitting and presto it was done. It took me less than 3 mins. I thought I might of needed instructions, but it was really simple. Even a guy can do it. (smile)

Pop out the old latch and replaced with a new one

My husband is the one who fixed the door. He said he just popped it into place and was done in just a couple of seconds! The best part though was the quick service we received. . . I ordered the part around 10:30 in the morning, and it was at my front door by 5pm the next day!!! What great service!!!! We will definitely do business again with partselect. The door catch kit is soo easy. They give you instructions on which one to use depending on your dryer and it fit perfectly into the door. This was great especially since it was so inexpensive! My husband thought we would have to replace the door.

Popped out the old door catch kit and replaced it with the new one! Easy!!

I ordered the door catch kit on a Wednesday at it arrived Saturday AM. It took less than 1 minute to pry out the old catch with a flat screwdriver and pop in the new one!

unlike the other's that said to take the top control panel off, i turned the machine up side down and was able to reach the valve from the bottom. it does require a good reach in but an average length arm will make it. just take the rubber hose loose from the valve with a pair of pliers, or hose clamp pliers if you are so blessed to have them, then pull the hose loose from the valve, then take the two electrical conectors off noting wich one goes with each side, then a nut driver should remove the valve without difficulty. installing new valve should be the reverse. i was up in running in minutes. it took longer to undo the hoses and reattach the hoses than to replace the valve.

Popped the latch out and popped a new one in.

The real story here is that there was an ANSWER and a SOLUTION, to what was a GREAT
annoyance. If I wouldn't have found a part, I may have run off and bought a new dryer, when I really didn't need to, or paid A LOT of money for a repair man to come out. THANK YOU for your service. You made my life easier.

All I had to do was get the model number off of the dryer and plug that information in online and within a couple of days the part arrived. It was great! There were directions that came with the part that explained how to replace the old latch with the new one.

I remember in the "olden days" when I would of had to call a repair guy out and paid a lot more than the $12.00 I did to replace the part myself. And, the only reason it was $12.00 dollars instead of $5-6 was because I had it shipped overnight.

Removed top control panel, removed inlet mount hardware, removed both electrical connectors, removed filler hose, Installed new inlet valve in reverse order. Works fine !
