RBS245PRT06 Whirlpool Wall Oven - Instructions

Unplugged old element unit and plugged in new element. Took two needle nose pliers and a flexible body. Took about 5 minutes. Works fine. Anybody can do it. Make sure power is off at the box.

I looked up the problem and determined I needed to replace the limit switch which is inside the back panel. As a 78 year old woman who isn't afraid to tackle these problems I found this easier than most. Just be sure to disconnect the electrical connection if you don't have long enough length to pull oven from the wall cabinet. I won't put any sheet pans in the oven next time I self clean it.

Removed locking device

The tech said he used No 2 Phillip's. Once I took the door off and removed the racks I quickly learned a Phillips was not going to work. I am now the proud owner of a Kobslt star and square ratchet screwdriver.

1) Removed the trim pieces (2 screws). 2) removed the 2 screws holding the oven in the wall. 3) Slid the oven out of the wall cabinet 4) removed the back panel of the oven ( 10 screws. 5.) removed the old thermostat (2 nuts) 6.). Installed the new thermostat and reversed steps 4-1

Cordless drill removed 2 screws replaced element and 2 screws
Done. Didn't use new bracket

You will need a screwdriver and two pieces of duct tape (very important) before you start.
Unscrew the plate that attaches and keeps the element in place to the oven wall. If the screws are rusty, replace those too at this time.
Very gently pull the element and the wires out into the oven cavity. Do not tug. Gently remove one wire from the burnt element and use a piece of tape to stick it to the oven wall. If you lose the wire or if it slips back into the hole in the wall, you are in trouble. Repeat with the other wire. Now assemble the new element in the reverse order, one connector at a time. Screw back the holding plate, and you are done. Takes less than 10 minutes to complete and your oven will be as good as new.

Product Select was the only distributor to have the oven door glass in stock. Kitchen Aid could not even get it for months.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Repaired the top over door glass quickly and easily by asking my son to do it.

I turn off the power in the breaker box and then unscrew the part and replace it with the new one

Ordered and received the terminal block. Installed it along with a new 220V power cord and the appropriate insulator . Ensured the terminals were tight with a nut driver. Reinstalled cover. Then, using the control panel, I did a function check on all the heating elements, clock, oven light, to satisfy all operational requirements. All checked good! And, I was relieved that the control panel had not been shorted out as the terminal block was due to a loose connection. Easy fix.

Unscrewed the old thermostat took off the conectors then replaced with new one, and screwed it back on.

Removed with screw driver the gasket clamp at bottom of door opening and then pulled away the old gasket. Installed new gasket making sure that each holding pin was insert in mounting holes, trimmed away un-raveled gasket material at ends and reinstalled gasket clamp at bottom of door. Removed old oven racks and installed new racks.

Turned off circuit breaker. Unscrewed two screws, although they required a square tipped screwdriver insert which I fortunately had phone estimates for this job were between $150 - $180. Could not have been easier.
