Upper double oven would not heat following a power failure during the clean cycle
I turned off the power from the circuit breaker. I then removed the doors and the trim package from around the oven. I slid out the oven and had my husband help me lower it to the floor. I removed the back covering and then removed the wires connected to the old thermostat. I unscrewed the old thermostat and replaced it with the new thermostat. Did everything in reverse and it seems to be working very well. It took about 30 minutes total. Some sites suggested that a fuse needed to be adjusted/replaced. In this kitchen-aid double oven and I'm assuming whirlpools as well, the thermostat/fuse is one piece located on the back of the unit. It was very simple. The piece cost $47. Such a great investment of time and money. I had the piece in 2 days, without paying extra postage.

The oven door would not fully close allowing some heat to escape. This was the result of the springs weakening over the past ten years.
When the oven is installed, there are two pins on the replacement hinges that are removed. If you were like me, you tossed these pins so you need to take a large nail and cut a 3/8" of material to replace these pins. This will allow the door to be removed when you open it half way. This is the most difficult part of the repair since you need to carefully pull the door off and a precise angle with an upward pull from the bottom. You will notice the new hinges have these pins so you can also try to get some new pins at a hardwire store that are similar. Next, you need to careful set the oven door down on a smooth work area and remove all of the philip head screws. The front of the door will be remove from the inside door piece by slipping it up a little when the screws are removed. The two screws that are on the inside panel hold the hinges. Take note of how you remove these since you will do just the reverse in putting in the new hinges. It would be a good idea to take the glass section off and clean it if you want to take on the extra challenge but you need to be very careful not to break these and that you put them back that same way it was removed. Now that you have it all put back together, you simply install the door back the way it was removed and then you can open it all of the way down to remove the pins in the hinges. Now would be a good time to put these pins in a save place with the rest of your paperwork for any further removal.

Remove racks before self-cleaning
Similar to another customer, the racks were not removed before self-cleaning. The issue was that I AM THE HUSBAND and I admit that I did it. Ooops. Great price and if I do it again, I will go back to parts select to get a replacement.

Missing oven racks
We have double wall ovens and each one only had a single oven rack in it. After 3+ years, I was tired of dealing with the issue so I ordered two new racks from PartSelect. They came quickly and fit perfectly. All I had to do was open the box, remove the rack and slide it into the oven. No muss, no fuss. Why didn't I do this years ago??

Errot codes during oven self-cleaning cycle
I looked up the meaning of the error codes and determined that the temp sensor was malfunctioning. Looked on line for a sensor and found what I thought was the right one and ordered it from PartSelect. The sensor arrived three days later and I removed the old sensor (with some difficulty I might add). Then I discovered the connector did not match. I called PartSelect and found out that the sensor connectors had changed since the oven was built and that an after-market sensor with the right connector was available. I ordered the new one, returned the wrong one and the new one arrived three days later. I popped it in and now I have a working oven.

broken inside glass, upper owen door on double oven
find the owner's manual & follow the instructions for inserting two allen wrenches (assuming that you cannot find the "removal tools" that came with the oven) into the holes near the hinges on the door, carefully & slowly close the door with the wrenches inserted until the hinges disengage from the wall mounted oven. Lift the door away (is rather heavy). It is necessary to remove panels from the front one layer at a time to reach the 3rd layer of glass (the inner most glass that is the rather easy one to break). Be slow and methodical. Not a challenge once you study the owner's manual for door removal instructions.
