To prevent this from happening use 7 #8 flat stainless steel washers per the 4 oven door holes that connect to the the handle as shims before securing the attachment brackets.

The replacement door has a cushion on the top and the sides secured to the tempered glass. When you tighten these brackets they can cause the entire glass panel to break. To prevent this use seven #8 flat washers per hole on the top of the door before securing the brackets. These will act as spacers but you will still will be able to achieve enough pressure to hold everything in place when you tighten them. Hope this helps, it worked for me, florida bob!!

Ordered a replacement part and during installation tightened the top mounting screws too tight and shattered the replacement part. Ordered a new replacemnte part and installed without overtighting mounting screws. Repair went well. I caution others not to overtighten top mounting screws. These are same screws that attache the SS pull handle on oven door.

Door repair assembly was simple, did without any instructions or manuals. Fan assembly, the actual fan replacement was easy, it was the number of pieces of metal that needed to be removed i order to get the main rear panel off to access. Also had to remove panel from inside the oven; requires two people to loosen screws from inside while the other person holds the fan assembly from the rear side of the oven. Didn't have any instructions for this task either, figured it out anyway, just follow the layers.

The repair was very simple. First, turned off the power to the electric oven by turning off the circuit breaker. Removed the side moldings (one screw on the bottom of each), and removed the bottom molding (two screws, one on each side). Removed two screws that held the oven in place (one on each side toward the top). With the help of another person, we pulled the oven out and set it on a two wheel dolly that was laying flat on the floor. I thought I was going to have to remove the power from the wired junction box, but found that the cord was long enough and I could turn the oven on the dolly to get access to the back cover. There are approximately 12 screws that hold on the back most cover. I removed the cover and the thermal shut off was located in the upper left/center part of the back of the oven. I removed the two wires and two screws holding the part to the oven and replaced. I then worked in reverse and put everything back together. The new part fixed the issue and the oven works fine.

turned breaker switch off. unscrewed the oven from the cabinet. lifted the oven out of the cabinet (heavy & awkward, needed an extra pair of hands). removed back panel. replaced fuse. reassembled everything. this is the second time i've had to replace the thermo fuse (oven blows the fuse when set to clean). first time i replaced the fuse it took about two hours. second time it about an hour.

Hardest part was getting the oven door off. Since I bought this house with oven already in place, I had no owner's manual. Tried to get it off with tips found on this site, no go. Went online and found the manual which said to insert allen wrench in holes in hinge, then lift up FROM THE BOTTOM. That is the key. Got door off, then found that replacing the inner glass is a multi step process that starts with the outside door, then multiple brackets to the next inside glass, then more braces to next glass, then finally you are at the broken (inside) glass.My advice would be to take pictures on cell phone or whatever of each level, so you know what goes where when you put it all back. I figured it out but would be faster with a picture. Anyway, got all together and the oven works fine, door looks great!.

Took off the covers and replaced the little bulbs. Took a long time to figure out how to get the covers off. Bulbs were $26 apiece!

I lifted the door from the oven. I reviewed the break down of the parts. The only tool needed was a screw driver to disassemble the door. I stacked each part in the order it was removed and replaced them in reverse order. PS, I cleaned the old glass before it was reinstalled it.

First thing you must do is remove door from oven, to do this there are locks on the hinges, lift them up. Next put door into an upright position with door opened about two inches, lift up and pull away from oven. Lay door on flat surface with inside of door facing up. there are two screws at to of door and two screws at bottom of door remove them place to side. next there are four more screws on each corner of the inside of door, they also need to be removed. this will cause the inside and outside of door to come apart. Hold door together and flip over, be careful. remove outside of door put to side. there is a bracket at the bottom with two screws remove, and remove bracket. There is a bracket at top with one screw remove. there are two pieces of glass be careful remove the two pieces of glass to get to the broken piece. Clean broken glass be careful not to cut yourself. Remember how you removed everything to put back together, do everything in reverse. Good luck, it's not that bad.

Removed double oven from cabinet after removing the doors, placing it on a milk crate, needs two people, turned it slightly to access the rear panels, removed panels and lower of the 2 motors and installed new motor, replaced all panels. I now have to check to make sure it is turned on it is so quiet! We lived with this noise so long because the appliance repair people said it was very expensive, about $400.00 to replace the motor, we did it for under $100.00 !!

I went to the source of power on the stove and noticed one of the terminals had come loose from the terminal block and had shorted out against the cover of the terminal junction. After prying the loose terminal off cover I ordered new terminal block and received it the 2nd day. I removed the old terminal block and replaced the part in about 10 minutes..Thank you Parts Select for your easy to find diagrams and quick delivery.

I turned off the power from the circuit breaker. I then removed the doors and the trim package from around the oven. I slid out the oven and had my husband help me lower it to the floor. I removed the back covering and then removed the wires connected to the old thermostat. I unscrewed the old thermostat and replaced it with the new thermostat. Did everything in reverse and it seems to be working very well. It took about 30 minutes total. Some sites suggested that a fuse needed to be adjusted/replaced. In this kitchen-aid double oven and I'm assuming whirlpools as well, the thermostat/fuse is one piece located on the back of the unit. It was very simple. The piece cost $47. Such a great investment of time and money. I had the piece in 2 days, without paying extra postage.

Repair was fast and easy, door closes like new.
