11111 Kenmore Wall Oven - Instructions

Fist I removed the screws on the front-sides of the oven. Then I turned off the gas, by adjusting the in-line valve. I then unscrewed the gas fitting going into the bottom of the oven. I pulled the oven out, being careful not to put too much pull on the electrical cord. I put a bench in front of the oven and set it down.
I then removed the oven racks, and the plate in the bottom. Bottom element is bake, top element is broil. I unscrewed the igniter, then disconnected its plastic wire connector on the back of the oven, then pushed and pulled the connector into the oven and out the door.
Then I ordered my part for $30 less than Sears from PartSelect, and it got here STUPID FAST. I hooked it up and put everything back together, no big deal, BOOM - Cornbread!

First we removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then detached the wire from underneath the oven. We then had to pull out the oven to access the back panel. We unscrewed the back panel and detached the second wire. Then we revearsed the process and installed the new igniter. The whole thing from start to finish took about 35min. This was very easy to do and I am happily baking once again. The whole family is happy about that :)

removed door (pull up and out), removed all racks and bottom of oven, removed two screws holding old igniter, unplugged old igniter from harness, mounted new igniter using two screws and nuts purchased from local hardware store, plugged new igniter into harness, replaced bottom of oven and trays, slid oven door down over hinges. Oven works properly. Thanx!

remove racks out of the oven. remove very bottom of oven and you will then have access to the ignitor.the part was a little difficult to remove due to the self tapping screws snapping upon removal.drilled them out and installed new ignitor.oven now works fantastic.

I unpluged the oven, removed the oven door by slideing it off the hinges, removed the racks, took the bottom pan out exposing the igniter,while attempting to remove the 2 screws holding the igniter to the bracket, I discovered that they where stripped so I had to use vise grips to remove them. I went to the hardware store bought replacements and installed the igniter. I then removed the protective cover over the wires, stripped them put on the wire nuts provided with the kit put the protective shield back pluged the unit in turned it on, checked it, then put it back together. The stripped screws were the only difficult part.

I removed the two screws that hold the element. This took most of the time because one of the screw broke. Then I unplug the power,took the igniter out and disconnect the wire and reverse the procedure.

I unpluged the electrical cord first. Then pulled the stove away from wall. Next removed oven racks, the bottom of the oven. Then removed the deflector plate over the burner. The next step I removed the broil pan. Now the oven area is empty. Nice and easy to remove the igniter with nut driver. Two screws and wire nut that are behind the stove wall. Now I just reversed the procedure. Very easy. The only thing I'm not sure where the insulation block go's. The wires go through back oven wall hole. There was no insulation there before? So I put a small piece just behind the igniter over the wire. Will this catch fire I don't know? If someone knows let me know. Other than that it works.

Because of the video provided by Parts Select I felt confident before even starting and that confidence stayed with me to the end..I removed bottom of oven , removed the philips screw in the front end of the burner and removed it.. Losened and removed the igniter replaced it and reassembled..The only caution I can give, if you find the screws holding the ignited on the burner hard to take off, apply a SMALL amount of WD40 to the threads and wait a couple minutes before removing..I was fortunat in the fact that my plug matched the replacement part with no cutting of wires..I normally don't get breaks like that.. Based off the information I found online, I determined we had a bad igniter. 1- disconnect oven from any power sources. If you have a gas model, be sure to valve off gas at this time as well. 2- Remove the racks and bottom pan in the oven. There is 2 push/pull locking mechanisms at the back of the oven that hold the tray in. Once you have this out you should have access to the gas tube and igniter. 3- Using a 5/16 nut driver, remove the 2 bolts on the mounting plate and the igniter should be free at this time. 4- Remove the bottom drawer to the oven. This will give you access to the electrical connections. 5- Remove the 2-3 screws that hold on the access panel toward the back of the unit. 6- Following the wires down, find the plug for the igniter and unplug. After this is done pull the wiring up through the oven and it will be the same to put back together just in reverse order. Relatively simple project that should take anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on how handy you are. After reinstallation our preheat times went from 45 minutes to 10

Removed the racks and bottom tray in the oven. Unplugged the old igniter and plugged the new one in.

The only difficulty with following the supplied video, is that my ignitor did not come out as easily as a few turns of the screwdriver. The screws stripped as I tried to remove them, making them twirl in their holes. I had to apply back pressure for them to come off and free the ignitor for replacement. Other than that, the installation went smoothly, and the oven sprang to life within 10 seconds of turning it on.

DISCONNECT AC ELECTRICAL POWER TO RANGE AND TURN OFF GAS SUPPLY TO RANGE 1. Removed door (slide up and off hinges), no tools required. 2. Removed grate/s and burner cover to expose burner and igniter. 3. Used hex socket tool to remove two igniter bracket screws. 4. Carefully pull two woven glass insulated leads connected to igniter until connector is in reach. 5. Use care not to put unnecessary strain on leads and connector body. 5. Squeeze locking tongs of connector, and unplug igniter leads. 6. While holding female end of connector, insert new igniter electrical plug, making certain they latch together. 7. Carefully push excess leads / connector body into recessed area and wrap insulation supplied with igniter kit around glass woven leads of igniter, to re-insulate the cavity opening. 8. Position igniter on burner tube bracket and replace hex screw fasteners. 9. Plug in electrical power to range, turn on gas supply. Check oven for proper operation. If oven does not light, shut off gas supply, unplug electrical power and contact qualified service technician.

remove oven door (watch video) remove bottom drawer clipped off plastic connector and wirenut to existing wiring. use nut driver to remove old igniter and install new one they even supply wirenuts and new insulation. Instrution are very detailed and easy to follow.

Watched the u-tube video of the repair linked to the PartSelect website and followed the instructor. The screw on the old igniter was a bit rusty and stuck on tight but it came off with a bit of coaxing. I can't the part arrived so quickly and that the repair was so simple. I am so happy we did not have to buy a new stove!

I first looked online at a video on how to replace the igniter prior to recieving the part. The part arrived 2 days after I ordered it (Christmas Day) and was an exact replacement. Taking the oven apart was the most difficult issue since there was some grease missed in the last cleaning plus a couple very tight screws. The igniter unplugged easily and reinstalled without cutting/splicing any wires. Oven was back together and fired up within 20 minutes. Outstanding service and would highly recommend PartSelect.
